I waffeled back and forth between several different brands and models, eventually choosing the Igen 4500, I made the right choice, this this is QUIET, after the break in period, i changed the oil, and hooked it up to my travel trailer, I can't really hear it from inside the trailer, at about 12' away, except momentarily when the 15000btu ac kicked on, then rpm's dropped back down. I had watched countless youtube video's comparing the different models, and decibel levels, and it's difficult to judge sound through a video, but now after purchasing, I'm quite pleased, and it comes with a battery, which some of the others don't.

We purchased this generator for emergency backup after doing a lot of research and comparisons. It seems to be good quality, however the generator would not start. We followed all of the startup instructions and it would crank but not start. When the spark plug was removed it was fouled. This happened twice and finally I went and bought a new spark plug. The generator now starts and runs but this seems to be a common problem I've seen after reading more reviews and comments.

Nice working generator I ordered an extended oil drain hose to make life a lot easier you will probably want to do that yourself part number Hon1010. I owned a predator generator before I hope this one is as good or better I'll follow up in a year And give a better review. Predator plastics are a lot thicker better made these ones seem a lot More flimsy. I was trying to take off the cover/outside pull start side cover one of the bolts that hold the main steel handle is frozen and I can't get it off I might need to call for warranty and have them send another steel handle so I can break this one bolt off. Right now I cannot take off the cover on the pull start side. I'm hoping the warranty departmentIs outstanding I will also do a updated on that as well

I bought the product a year and a half ago and find the product simply perfect. Light, efficient, quiet and compact. Used it for home during Power outage, camping, overnight parking in the lower 48 and the product simply does what it is made for. Remote starter is also an awesome feature, don't need to get outside to start it and get Power to the rdv.

Theoretically, this generator is perfect for my homestead, whether powering critical household appliances during an outage or running power equipment in the fields: price, peak wattage, running wattage, and fuel efficiency. Unfortunately, on my first use, the engine would start, indicate overload, and cutoff, despite no load being plugged in. I have opened a support case with Westinghouse. Once the support case is closed, I will update my review (or create a new review) for both the generator and Westinghouse support.

At first start up there was a massive gasoline spill. All over the place. Happy there was no fire. Turns out that the generator is started at the factory and then gasoline drained via the drain in the carburetor float bowl. The employee never tightened the drain nut. This could have caused a fire. The Westinghouse assistant on the phone was unimpressed. Told me he wasn't going to pass along my information to anyone in the company. I've only run the generator for an hour to test it out and it appears to work. But I may not buy any more Westinghouse products.

Bought couple weeks ago. Just started last night ran last night for five hours for the break in period. Ran with out a hitch. Used a small griddle plate to vary the load while testing. The screw in funnel to add oil was a nice addition. Do read the manual first the quick start guide doesn't talk about the break in period or we have some cool weather here and was thinking about starting out with the synthetic oil which is not recommended during the break in period.

Unit came with automatic choke issues, as detailed in previous reviews. Mine was no exception. I have a lifetime of small engine repair experience. After tearing unit down was able to identify the poor connection on starter module. Works fine now. Would be an issue if new owner was expecting unit to start and run without two hours of shop time invested. Zip tied wire to avoid strain on connection, connected to starter module, and applied a drop of hot glue to connection retention clip to secured during any vibration. Looking forward to many years of service. Plugged in my 26' TT, ran AC and all appliances, generator did it's job. Thanks.

I just purchased this unit after spending considerable time comparing what was available in the inverter generator market and I have to say I'm pleased with my choice! The package comes with everything you need to get going except fuel. Initial set up was a breeze. After I unpacked the generator I think I had it up and running in well under 5 minutes. Once it was running I was amazed by how quiet is was for a generator of this size. Next I proceeded to test it with my camping trailer and it was able to remotely start it over 30' away and then simultaneously power the AC and the microwave without any indication that it was working hard at all.

I shopped around specifically for a Dual Fuel Inverter generator with a remote electric start to use at my primitive campsite with a 5th wheel trailer. After considering several brands, I chose the Westinghouse iGen5000DF. I received the product in under a week, which I felt was very good considering it was very close to Thanksgiving and the ensuing Christmas shipping time period. I added the enclosed oil and followed the directions to break it in at my house, then loaded it into the back of my SUV and took it to my land and camper for Thanksgiving weekend. The generator is very quiet and performed flawlessly for the 3 day weekend. We have used it for several weekends since and love the remote stop/start that we can use from inside the camper. I did the first oil change at camp per the owners manual and was very pleased with oil color and consistency coming out. Overall, very pleased with the generator and my decision to purchase.
