Excellent generator

I had been wanting a generator for my camper for a while now but never pulled the trigger. However we had a planned power outage at our business so needed power for the fridge, register and a few lights. Set-up was easy, the remote is great! It ran everything I needed during the outage with ease. I might have nerded out turning things off and on while watching the display. My only complaint is the access cover for the oil fill and drain is to small. There was more residual oil from factory test than I thought there would be and I had to drain some out. The drain plug was very difficult to get to. Overall, I’m pleased. Can’t wait to use it camping.

Remote Start

I bought the i4500 for using with a travel trailer. I really like the remote start. I can start the invertor in the mornings to brew my coffee without going outside and yanking on a pull rope. I am getting older and convenience is important. The front panel with the electronic readout is a major plus.

Quiet and powerful

I looked at several inverter generators before buying the iGen 4500. It's the quietest available with 4500/3700 Watts starting/running power. I primarily bought it to keep my fridge/freezer running during power outages, which seem to be happening more often where I live. Since I live in the city (suburbs) I didn't want to disturb the neighbors, particularly those that don't have power of their own. It's very easy to move about with the pull out handle and wheels. I'm still in the break-in and test phase, but if it keeps operating as well as it has been, I'm probably going to pick up another for my daughter.

Light weight and quiet unit!

Great generator to use for RV boondocking! Love how quiet it is and easy to maneuver. It also lasted longer than expected. We were able to use it about an average of 12 hrs without filling up with gas. It also has a remote which is super convenient. Great purchase!

Great system

I bought this for my wife to use for her horse trailer where I do no go with her, thus am not there to pull start a normal generator. She Loves the remote control start/stop button. Been having some recent trouble with the generator, but have found the service technician to be amazingly helpful in solving my problem. They want happy customers.

Good Value

I did extensive research on generators/inverters for my camper, and the Westinghouse iGen4500 had the best balance of price, weight, capacity, and noise level. There were two items from shipping that were less than perfect: 1) One of the battery cable plug female ends was bent out of shape, so the plug wouldn't go together, and I had to pry it open to get it to go together. 2) Initially, the generator wouldn't start, or would kill seconds after it did. After doing some snooping on the Westinghouse Portable Power website, I found a Technical Service Bulletin under Service & Support that gave the simple, but tedious, fix to reconnect a cable to the starting module that tends to come unplugged during shipping.

Quiet & Powerful

We've done a lot of research on remote start inverter generators and this one is by far the best we've owned. Super quiet and plenty of power to run our camp (TV, coffee maker, water pump, stove blower, toaster, microwave etc). 3 year warranty is also unheard of. We've owned several Champion generators and glad we made the switch to Westinghouse igen4500!

Good stuff but time will tell

Just got this and am pretty impressed. Plugged in to get a good battery charge and oiled it up where ran into the only issue so far. Too much oil in the can provided and difficult to catch the overflow so I ended up with excess oil on the garage floor. Would be nice to have an easier way to catch the overflow. Larger access door maybe to put a small pan under oil cap. Good stuff is I gassed it up, turned on the switches, pushed the remote control once and it fired right up. Plugged in the 5th wheel and turned on an AC unit and running fine. Time will tell if it keeps working as easy.

GREAT Power and comes with Remote Control!

Bought this to use with our camper and it has exceeded in our expectations. We specifically looked for a quiet generator with a remote that would run our AC in the high Colorado mountains and it did great right out of the box. We will be recommending this to anyone and everyone!

Mixed Review - Great Performer Aggravating Issues

The generator performs very well. The location where the oil has to be checked and filled is very hard to access. You sometimes have to lay on the ground to get the plug back in. The battery cover and the oil access cover fall off too easily. Even when you're moving the generator you find them lying on the ground
