Great features when they work. They generator is quiet and works great, good power to run a small home. The remote start feature has some glitches. It works sometimes, but not all the time. There are you tube videos available on how to address the problem. Over all a good little generator!

This unit was bought from a box stores site and delivery was supposed to be 5 days later. It ended up taking 13 days, but thats not on Westhinghouse and instead the shipping company's fault. Since arriving, we have been doing the break in period and its working great. We are going off grid for 8 days next week and that will be the true test, but if how its worked so far is any indication, it will be a flawless trip.

I purchased the Igen4500 to replace an older,smaller conventional generator. Set up was easy after reading the manual completely first. The generator started right up and I ran it for a half hour or so. It's really quiet compared to the conventional generator. It's primary function will be to supply backup power after a Hurricane. So, it will be a while (hopefully never) before any long term usage. I do not however expect any problems because of the build quality.

Bought in Aug 2024. Started right up on second pull (wanted to find out how easily it would start without using electric start). Ran fine. Started again in Sept and ran several hours with varying load and it did fine. Changed oil and followed long term storage instructions. Instructions very good. Would have given 5 stars but needs some improvements: Larger access panel to oil fill area. Easier way to drain fuel tank. Screwdriver and spark plug wrench provided were low quality

Upgrading from two westinghouse 2200's. Hopefully this 4500 will provide longer run time with the camper. Easy setup(careful filling the oil up for the first time, it will not take 0.6L and make a mess.) . Fires right up and quiet. A slight variation in RPM at idle speed. Maybe this is normal. The operation panel is easy to use. Should be a great generator.

I got this unit because my other one is worn out. It is used mostly for dry camping and as a back up at my home. I have had it for several days at this time. I got it because of all the good reviews and hope it lives up to them. I set it up as told and had no trouble with it. The unit started up on the first try with the remote start and even after setting awhile it was a easy start with the pull start. I allowed it to run for a little while before putting a small load on it and not trouble. Later I pluged up my camper to it and it had not trouble running everything in it. So as of now i can say I believe it to be a great unit and will do the job of other higher price units. The only problem I have is it is a little louder that I hoped but it is still quit enough that it will be no problem when camping . Yes I will recommend this to anyone that needs a good unit.

I removed it from the box, connected the battery, installed the supplied oil, filled the gas tank, turned on the fuel, turned on the battery, pressed the start button and immediately it purred to life. I connected my heat gun and it worked. My only disappointment is that the digital read out is in metric liters and kilowatts. I did a google search and found charts to convert them (see attached).

This unit is a warranty replacement for one I bought in July 2021. Out of the box, the autochoke did not work. fortunately I found a video on YT that showed me how to fix it in about 10 minutes. Unit ran well and met my power needs for my 5th wheel trailer. Unfortunately, the inverter failed after about 125 hours. Warranty service is a hassle. WH's tech support line is not supportive. Finally took my unit to an Authorized Service Center and it took them several weeks to get a replacement authorized. After that WH shipped the replacement in a few days. Unfortunately the autochoke doesn't work on the replacement and the YT video doesn't seem to apply. Back to the tech support grind!

Beats the Comparable Honda Model/Size/Watts in Quietness, Features and POWER! I really like the Digital read out for all the Run time, fuel level, run time left, etc. Remote Start and Electrical start worked for me every time. The wheels and pull out handle work great. I was worried at first from photos that the telescoping handle and wheels could not handle the weight on grass and mostly flat dirt with a full tank, but it rolls around with ease! Good build Quality. The plastic housing surrounding the generator frame and motor has good sound deadening stuck to it on the inside. Durability is ok enough. It's definitely not a slam around Generator. Remote started worked for me right away and even at it's first start up. Power output is as advertised. If you buy this From Home Depot you can get an additional 3 years extended warranty for additional cost on top of the 3 year warranty Parts and Labor that Westinghouse provides. 6 years total coverage! Remember to follow the Owners manual for first start up and break-in period. Do not over fill the generator with Oil and you will LOVE this generator. I got the gas only Model because the Propane one was out of stock for ages and Gas is more available for me anyways. Put in Fuel stabilizer and you got good gas for at least a year if you keep this in a garage or dry shed. I bought this to be used in California because of the annoying PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) that are happening every fire season in California. I am also using this for camping as well since it's so quiet and portable enough.

I bought this unit in March 2021, when I received the unit and seen the outside of box, I was just sure I had a broken or scuffed unit! Much to my surprise the unit was not even touched, all due to heavy foam packing protection, that did its Job . Zero defects. I looked the unit over , removed battery door and connected battery , it was a little bit of a chore to hook up plug as it’s just long enough to work. Big hands don’t help. Located oil fill area, by the way who ever designed the very nice plastic fill funnel that actually threads into the fill hole it’s a Rubber seal washer is a Genuis , no mess and it flat works, keeping this. Filled with oil supplies. Reinstall dipstick and always full. Removed fuel cap and and added about a quart of fuel..Turned unit on as well as Fuel , and hit starter button. Fired right up , like I just stopped it ? Great ! Test run everything worked . Fuel,showed,low, I shut off and filled the tank ! Restarts and gauge showed 21 hrs run time , pretty neat .After running for about five minutes hooked to RV, It actually has the 30 amp rv plug , no other adaptor needed . Win! Ran lights and etc! Five minutes , turned on 15 K ac , unit took the load right off, checked load , stated 25%, ok, so I turned on second 15k. Ac, boom checked stayed with load and showed 50 % duty , also each time I put load on time clocked followed with new run time,(Keep in mind that the temp when I did this is like 65 outside .) might change at 100 degrees . But I was very impressed , I ran it for about to hours , changing from one ac to normal lights and back to both Ac units . The Tow handle is a big plus .
