Really Quiet and Easy To Start and Use

I purchased the iGen 4500c to replace a generator that was stolen. It is easy to set up out of the box. You just need to add oil (included), connect the battery, add gas, turn the fuel valve to on, turn the rocker switch on and press the start button. It is really quiet and is easy to maneuver with the telescoping handle.

Horrible

Doesn't work. Got this one because it is rated for much more than we need and it barely starts and when it does it trips. Don't waste your money, spend a bit more and get the Honda.

    Super Quiet Power House

I did a fair amount of research before making my decision to purchase the Westinhouse IGEN4500. My only issue is with the automatic choke sticking from the initial shipping process, however it is an easy fix. This little powerhouse is super quiet. I could her my friends generator from across our camp over the Westinghouse generator. It delivered all the power we asked of it. I look forward to many years of service.

    Amazing Generator!

We bought this generator for very specific reasons so we could power our RV. And every one of the specs that we needed work better than expected. On Eco mode, this generator runs extremely quiet! With Eco mode off the power is more than enough for our needs. The push button start works like a dream! We highly recommend this to anyone looking for a dependable generator with high output.

    Works perfectly

I had a Predator 3500 which didn't quite cut it, it couldn't handle the power my trailer required. My friend had an igen4500 which she let us use for over 70 running hours, and it worked perfectly and handled the load with zero hiccups. Turns out she even forgot to change the oil after breaking it in, so it was running on the original oil the generator came with (bad idea), but it still ran perfectly! I bought one for myself a week later and mine has been working flawlessly.

    Good so far

Using it for my camper for occasional boondocking as well as for occasional work where no power is available or during power outages at home. So far runs my 15K BTU A/C with no problem at 50% load, noise is about what I expected. Only had it for a day but it will be used heavily this coming weekend at a NASCAR race. The fit and finish of the plastic panels does not seem to be very good but that is minor as long as there are no other issues.

    Great Generator

Received the generator, unboxed, connected battery, put in the oil and gas an wham the unit started on the first try. It will run my 30 amp motorhome with no problems. The only issue with this generator so far is the 30 amp RV plug is installed upside down. That was an easy fix though. It's light enough I can pick it up by myself. I would recommend this generator to anyone.

Igen 4500 troubles but Still love it!

I wrote a review a couple days ago had a little trouble getting it started at first, thought it had something to do with having to hold the start button till the green light blinking then taping the start button but that quit working. I ended up finding after all that it was just like other bad reviews the automatic choke was not working, I opened the face and the side panel with the pull start cord on it and found the choke wiring harness was unplugged. I did a lot of research before buying this generator and the only bad reviews were because of this same problem so was kind of expecting it. The other bad reviews go back a couple of years so am surprised they haven’t figured out a fix for this issue yet but a simple fix if slightly mechani...

    Packed With Features

Picked up this generator for my travel trailer. Plenty of power with room to spare for my trailer. Love the remote start, no more getting out of the trailer to start up the generator. Nice and quiet too, even with a load on it. But at idle, very very quiet, and even more so with the eco mode turned on. All and all I'm very happy with this unit.

Hoping for a reliable unit after rocky start.

Unit came with automatic choke issues, as detailed in previous reviews. Mine was no exception. I have a lifetime of small engine repair experience. After tearing unit down was able to identify the poor connection on starter module. Works fine now. Would be an issue if new owner was expecting unit to start and run without two hours of shop time invested. Zip tied wire to avoid strain on connection, connected to starter module, and applied a drop of hot glue to connection retention clip to secured during any vibration. Looking forward to many years of service. Plugged in my 26' TT, ran AC and all appliances, generator did it's job. Thanks.

    igen4500

I purchased this generator to power my new 30ft. travel trailer and it is working great. The remote start/stop fob is a good idea except I still have to go outside to turn the gas and battery on and off. Needing to change the carb jets when I need to use the generator at various altitudes is a problem that Onan corrected with just the turn of a knob. Otherwise, I am very happy with the performance. It's much quieter than the Onan 4000 I had in my Class C motor home which that alone made this purchase worth it.

    Great Features

Just received our new generator and looking forward to using it with our RV. We've read through the instructions and they are pretty straight forward. We look forward to many camping trips with our new generator and all the options that come with it.

    Super quite

I own several generators, but this is by far my favorite so far. I used it for the first time this weekend on my food truck. I was not disappointed. I used it to power my 1800 watt waffle maker and my 1700 watt panini press. She did well. She ran for 8 hours with no issues.

    Quiet with Power

I bought this a week ago and have only used a couple of times. was able to power a small cabin with lights and fans while charging cordless tool batteries, running a small air compressor and a table saw all at the same time! Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the gas gauge hasn't worked on it since I got it and I haven't used it that much. So I guess time will tell if this is a well built machine.

    Great for camping

We bought this and in the matter of a week took it to a primative horse camp. For May camping we were not expecting to be needing the heat in our trailer so we got to really test this thing out. It ran all of our light, water, my instapot, and our furnace with zero issues! It never even had to rev up when we had everything running at once. The key fob was fabulous, no need to run outside to start and stop the generator for the "quiet hours" at camp. We were also surprised with how quiet it was! For the money this thing is more than comparable to some of the other high end brands that cost 2-3 times as much.

A quiet unit with loads of features

After researching inverters for some time as a quieter option as compared to our standard generator, we finally settled on the IGen4500 for three main reasons. First, it is significantly quieter than a standard generator, to the point that you can easily have a conversation standing next to it. Since its an inverter, that is to be expected, but going from a standard generator to this inverter, it was a surprise how much difference it made. Second, the lower weight as compared to a standard generator is a plus. While 100 pounds is still heavy, compared to our other 5500W generator, its much easier to maneuver while still providing ample power. Third, the iGen4500 has great features. The electric start and remote start work great, and th...

    Excellent Unit

The wife and I just bought our first a new Travel Trailer. Graduated from a Tent Trailer. We needed a Generator that would not only meet the power needs of our trailer, but would be allowed within the National Parks. This Generator meets those needs as well as it's 1/3 the price of similar competitive models. I won't mention names but the initials are H and Y.... Right out of the box, I filled the oil, gas and connected the battery, started up on first pull, and the electric stat with remote. I am very please and would recommend Westinghouse's iGen line to all future Campers.

    iGen4500 - Great Product!

My wife purchased the Westinghouse iGen4500 for me as a Christmas gift. I found the manual to be very comprehensive regarding setting up, operating, and maintaining the generator. The engineering and design of the generator are impressive. Access to critical maintenance areas is easy and convenient. The push button electric start and remote start features are game changers. This unit is replacing two Yamaha 1600 watt generators we use for RV camping. Although the wet weight of the iGen4500 is over 100lbs, its roller-board style wheel system makes it easy to move the generator on the ground. With moderate effort, my wife and I together can lift the generator in and out of the bed of my truck. I would recommend this generator for those tha...

    So easy to start

Luckily, we have not needed to use this generator yet. But it was very easy to set-up. And I can already tell that it is so easy to start. It also seems to run a bit quieter than our old generator. I like the remote control feature too! I have no doubt that it will be easy to use when the need arises.

    Great features!

Perfect for our needs. Quiet, easy to use, push button start, USB ports, telescoping handle, everything you could need in an emergency. It was important for me (as the wife) to be able to use this, move it, set it up on my own as my husband is often called away during emergencies due to his work. Couldn’t be happier with this purchase.

    Awesome invertor

Live in Florida and experience power weather related outages a few times a year. Lots of experience with many generators. Purchased this one for the new season. Couldn't be happier. Easy to operate runs relatively quite and plenty of power. Key phob start/stop is also a nice touch. Recommend for anyone needing a powerful affordable power option

    Just as Advertized

I purchased this before this year’s hurricane season. It started with the first push of the electric start. I did a mock run of two freezers and two refrigerators all plugged in and for two hours it never had to work hard. It is quiet as advertised. I am very satisfied. It met my expectations.
