- 4 out of 5 stars review1/23/2019Have only had it running for a few hrs, and so far so good. Started up well within a few pulls. Trying it out on refrigerator and freezer, along with a few lights. Nice and quite and appears to be well built (except for the access cover's locking mechanism - not a big deal but appear cheesy). I plan on changing the oil after 10 or so hours with higher-quality oil than came with it.
Running good!
MarkOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 3 out of 5 stars review11/28/2022All the features are nice. However I've had issues with the choke and the wiring not being connected. Maintenance is difficult as the access panels are far too small. Changing oil is difficult. Used for ice fishing and didn't have any issues with run time or having enough power to run the fish house.
Great features, poor design

Filled the new generator with oil, and fresh clean gas, it started on the 2nd pull. I tried the remote start also and it worked great. I am quite surprised at just how quite this thing is, especially compared to my Champion open frame generator that I have. I ran my fridge and heating system nd a few lights, it was no biggie for he generator to handle. I hope it lasts a long time without issues.
Fantastic generator
ZekemanOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review5/26/2020I bought this for dry camping for a 2018 Keystone Cougar 25RESWE. Took less than a half hour to unpack and have running. Added oil and gas and came with enough battery charge to start with push button on front of unit. Later started using remote so all worked well. All outputs and gauges easy to read. Noise level is minimal and easy to have normal conversations close to unit. Ran a/c unit in RV along with 50 inch LED tv and satellite. It weighs all of 100 lbs so locate where you want it to be because you won't be lifting it in and out of your truck. Great job Westinghouse!
Great for RV
klergatorOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review10/24/2021After reading reviews of good and bad, and watching YouTube videos if I happen to get one with the Choke issue I decided to order one ,just like a lot of reviews said choke comes unplugged in shipping I had that happen to me, wouldn't start so pulled sides off plugged choke wire back in and boom fired right up and no problems since, runs everything on rv and very quiet. Glad I made purchase

Tod EOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/8/2021The directions on how to get this running were very easy to follow EXCEPT the directions regarding putting in the oil. The oil supplied is exactly the correct amount, yet the directions warn you about over-filling the oil tank. There's also a nifty oil filler spout not mentioned in the directions, which made filling easy once I realized that to use it you need to tilt the inverter at a 45 degree angle with the spout now standing straight up to get the oil to flow down. After that, the inverter generator was as easy as fill-switch on the fuel-switch on the unit-press the start button. The starting process is awesome, and doesn't require you to hold the switch at all. Likewise, the shut down procedure is as simple as pressing the on/off bu...
Easy Setup and Operation
CraigInThePoconosOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review5/30/2021Bought this generator almost a month for my RV and love it at first sight. Great price for a compact but powerful generator. Love the Start/Stop remote feature, especially when the wind pick up outside at 0200am. The noise is not that loud compared to other generator in the same category.
Best generator for RV
chuonnvOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review12/10/2022I just started this new unit for the first time and used the remote. It fired up perfectly and runs great. Had completely loose battery strap and had to take out battery to connect inside clip then spent 2 hours before 2 of us, one holding a flashlight to finally get the second clip attached. This should be done in the factory. Now my large hands are all bruised up. The rest went like clock work but the gas cap I had to use wide reach vice grips to break it loose. A gorilla must have screwed it on. Good job gorilla.
Perfect for our needs.
AltatedOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review10/12/2020Originally i was very happy to have purchased this generator. Literally everything that i want on a generator for a killer price. I happened to be one that got one of the duds as i cant get it to start on its own without taking the cover off and manually adjusting the choke. not sure if there is yet a fix for this but i hope to find out soon.
all around package
dizzlesOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review4/29/2022I had been wanting a generator for my camper for a while now but never pulled the trigger. However we had a planned power outage at our business so needed power for the fridge, register and a few lights. Set-up was easy, the remote is great! It ran everything I needed during the outage with ease. I might have nerded out turning things off and on while watching the display. My only complaint is the access cover for the oil fill and drain is to small. There was more residual oil from factory test than I thought there would be and I had to drain some out. The drain plug was very difficult to get to. Overall, I’m pleased. Can’t wait to use it camping.
Excellent generator
MillerManOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 1 out of 5 stars review10/7/2020The generator is nice compact and super quiet. The display panel gives the power and the voltage but adding Amps would be a plus. Because the generator surges at startup, the only way to get it to start and run smoothly is to remove the side panel which would not be good in an emergency. The generator needs an access panel for the choke without having to pull the whole side. The remote start is a nice feature but totally pointless. The manual states nothing should be plugged in to the receptacles and the generator should not be under load at start up. If you have to go outside and plug everything in after it is running why even have a remote start. The handle makes it nice to maneuver but it is tucked underneath the generator so an older ...
One out of three is bad
Thirsty1Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review3/27/2021I bought this generator after doing quite a bit of research. I wanted a generator that was as quiet as possible while running my rv air conditioner. When I received it, I followed the quickstart guide but could not get it started. After doing some research I found a service bulletin describing the issue and instructing to make sure a connector for the choke is connected. Mine had not been plugged in. After plugging it in the generator starts and runs like a dream. It is very quiet and looks great too. Overall I am happy with my purchase.
Bad start but great generator
EvdogOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review2/28/2021I compared a lot of generators before deciding on the iGen4500. It arrived well-packed in a styrofoam cradle inside a sturdy box. The initial setup was simple, and it started on the first push of the button. I have tried it with various loads, and it easily powers my travel trailer’s air-conditioner and microwave, even while simultaneously recharging the trailer battery. It truly is one of the quietest generators I have ever encountered, especially considering the power it packs.
The perfect combination of power and quietness
AirscribeOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review4/11/2021Just pulled the unit out of the box, put everything together, put some fuel in and it fired right up.. no problems at all. I hooked it up to my travel trailer and performs well, this generator has plenty of power and is quiet in comparison to many other generators.
Great unit!
RobertttttOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review9/25/2020after another week long power outage, using a less than stellar noisy generator, I sprang for the Westinghouse iGen4500, money well spent! with everything I need to run in the house having sensitive electronics, I needed an inverter generator to protect the fridge, freezer, TV, stereo...all the important stuff! A surge suppressor will not save them from a cheap generator! This machine is incredibly quiet, and seems to be extremely fuel efficient, which is great when the gas stations all around you are also out of power! Something to note though is the outlet for your generator cord is NOT a 30A Twist-Lock like most generators, it's a TT-30 style. don't get caught with the wrong plug when you need it most!:)
What a great generator!
SOLIDWORKS DesignerOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review5/21/2021For the price, can not be beat. Have had this for just under a year and been perfect for camping and remote power needs. Remote start is an awesome feature when camping. Have changed oil a few times. Startes up everytime. Ran the 27' camper in dead of summer with A/C set on max for hours. Great fuel capacity. My have gone with the duel fuel looking back on things, but thats on me. Very Happy so far.
Great Power, Very Quite, Great Price
RemotecamperOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review1/28/2024I bought this inverter/generator this week in the event that our power goes out during a storm or for any other reason. It was so easy to set up and crank. It runs super smooth and is very quiet. When you use the ECO feature it is even quieter. This generator is perfect for my temporary needs when we lose our power.
Great Features at a Great Price
WoodyMOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review8/11/2020Have not actually run this unit but it seems like a great option for campers wanting to run AC. We purchased this unit as an upgrade from a couple of smaller 1800 running watt units. I like the fact that it has a 30 amp camper plug on the unit.
Looks like a nice unit
TB camperOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/8/2021After alot of research we bought the westinghouse iGen 4500. The box was damaged but the contents were still well protected with no damage. Followed the directions for fluid filing and battery connection and it stated right up. Did the 5 hour break in and then tried it on or camper. Quietly runs our 15000. Btu ac and all electronics. Very happy with this purchase.

SwaldOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/27/2021Right out out box, I hook up battery with easy one plug. Filled with oil, comes with great funnel, put gas, turn on/ off button, press start button and started right up. Tested remote, press off and one, remote was already Program in. Needed for 30 amp for rv, will test trm. Cons: didn't come with strap for battery, will get in contact with mfg.
