- 4 out of 5 stars review7/3/2021I just unpack this igen4500. it was missing the battery cover. I email for a replacement. we will see. I have a honda eu3000 and needed more power, the honda is a little quieter, but much heavier and twice the cost. and its hard to compare to a honda as for reliability considering I have not used it yet. i love the remote start and the auto choke.
nice unit great features
go sunsOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review9/9/2021When I received my IGen4500 off of the delivery truck, it took me 20 minutes from the time I opened the box to starting the generator. The instructions that came with the generator were very clear. I now have 12 hours on the generator with no issues. It runs my entire travel trailer.
Easy setup
KWMANOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review6/10/2021Purchased a iGen4500 recently after reading many reviews. It was the best price for the features that I need. Runs very quiet and efficient and runs my fifth wheel camper without any hesitation. Just in time for hurricane season too. Now we can camp wherever we want in comfort.
Outstanding purchase
Hillbilly PhilOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review3/31/2021This Inverter Gererator took 20 days to be delivered due to its high demand. Well worth the wait. Very quiet and enough power to keep my house functioning in an emergency. The controls are very clear and the well thought out and the remote start is a bonus.
Quiet Running, Clear Controls, Well Engineered
NakemdeadOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/20/2020This is my first generator and will be my only. I reviewed for 3 months on which one to purchase and this met all my needs. I did sacrifice ease of portability as this model is heavy but thats just means I need to stay in shape. Thansk Westinghouse for a great product.
IGEN 4500
JimmieCOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review7/5/2021I bought this unit about 1 year ago and I've used it around 6 times. Not once has it let me down or even hicupped. The power is great. It runs my entire Rv travel trailer with a 30 amp a/c unit all day and night and I still have 5 hours left on it when I wake in the am. Super fuel efficient and quite. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
Powerful and quiet, last all day and night
Ryan41Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review7/3/2021Contrary to some beliefs there is nothing wrong with this generator. Received it 26 June 2021 added oil and gas on the 27th it started right up and purred like a kitten very quiet even when not on Econ mode. Nothing wrong with the electric choke like others have said. Only thing that ticked me off was the side panel on the side where you check the oil received a crack on shipping. Westinghouse shipped me a new one the very next day after i reported it to them. The only issue will be removing the handle bolt holding the side cover on it is extremely tight used an impact and it still will not come loose i told Westinghouse someone tightened it too tight at the factory. This generator is unbelievable quiet have to hear to believe. I tested it ...
Extremely quiet, more quiet than a Honda
OlsargeOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review8/5/2019It's only been running for 3 hours but I'm satisfied. Solidly built. Good operating instruction manual. Easy to start. Very quiet can stand right next to it and hold a conversation with someone. Little vibration. However, the remote start doesn't work, but the remote stop does. My RV has a built in, 50 amp power monitor system (PMS) that shuts power off if an incoming electrical problem is detected. PMS won't allow the RV to power up when connected to the iGen4500; it says there's no ground detected. Westinghouse Service Tech is looking into this issue for me. If they can't figure this out I'll be returning the generator. The generator produces +63 volts on the hot leg of a 120 volt outlet and -63 on the low side of the outle...
iGen4500 - Satisfied, won't run w/ Power Watchdog
Dustin99Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review3/1/2021Received before expected date. Easy set up out of box. Had none of the problems that I have read about. Have only ran it a couple hours but ran refer off 120v turned on A/C and ran 900 watt micro wave and generator preformed flawlessly. Extremely happy at this time.
Super Quite
Mr JollyOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 1 out of 5 stars review11/8/2023purchased this unit back in April of this year and its been a headache to keep unit on. i tried using it for the second time this past weekend and its still doing the same thing. I Filed a claim and sent video. I hope they can correct issues or replace unit. I will update review at later time.
bad unit
Juan C.Originally posted onwestinghouse.comeCommHi, Thank you for your purchase and for taking the time to let us know. We sincerely apologize that your experience with you... - 5 out of 5 stars review2/28/2021I'd been wanting a generator/invertor for a long time and I'm glad I got this one. The features are so easy to use. Worked perfect right out of the box. Added oil and gas and started right up. Perfect size for easy storage. BTW the unit is quiet. Talked right next to it while it was running and didn't feel like had to raise my voice. Definitely recommend the igen4500 if your looking for this size.
This thing is awesome!!!!!
Mike626Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review12/23/2018I was worried after the many reviews, but this is a great generator. After the breaking process, I took this to my hunting camp. For 48 hours this little giant was a power horse. -Very quiet -Fuel consumption - one fuel tank lasted 21 hours with heater, microwave, and trailer usage. -Easy to transport ( I could load this in my truck be myself unlike my old one) I did install an hours meter on before using the machine.
Everything you demand
idratherbflyinOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review10/14/2018The i4500 powers our camper and other small appliances when commercial power is not avaiable. Its telescoping handle and wheels makes it easy to maneuver during set up, and remote electric start make ease a use great. The 3 gallon gas tank is an advantage over similar inverters with small tanks.
Lightweight and easy start
RichOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review6/10/2025Just picked up this 5000c generator to power the ac on a toy hauler. Doing initial run in and limiting the load for the first 5 hours as specified in the manual. Will know tomorrow how successful it is in running the ac. Fairly quiet and no issues yet.
Good so far
OldmanracingOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review3/18/2021I just got my generator and hooked it up to run the fridge and a space heater. I worked perfect and did not even bog down. So I hooked up a circular saw too. It has plenty of power to do what I want I will plug in my furnace when I get a power cord installed on it. Nice modern product. Quiet enough during the daytime
Easy to use
BowleramaOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review2/22/2021My Honda is showing signs of its age and also its power is marginal for our new 5th wheel RV. I've looked at a lot of generators and thought the IGen4500 would be a perfect upgrade. And what an upgrade it it. It appears the quality is as good as my old generator and the power, remote start, wheels, etc., etc., make it a far more suitable unit. Oh yes, the price tag of less than half that of the Honda sealed the deal for me.
iU3000 replacement
morewattsisgoodOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review9/19/2020I purchased 2 of these generators with the 50 amp Parallel Cord. Both are now working, one of them is working perfectly but sometimes the other one of them starts but then will not start and stay running. It may have something to do with the automatic choke that so many people have complained about. At this point I am very happy and hope that the other generator comes around. Westinghouse is great with customer support so I am certain that all will be great
So quiet
WayneDOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review3/31/2021This generator was purchased about a month ago and I am excited because it fits the dual-purpose of having a backup power source for our house, yet is portable enough for our RV. The generator came with clear instructions (rare!) It fired right up after adding oil and gas It runs very quiet
Good directions, Quiet operation, fired right up!
LeftyRVOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review8/11/2020Have not actually run this unit but it seems like a great option for campers wanting to run AC. We purchased this unit as an upgrade from a couple of smaller 1800 running watt units. I like the fact that it has a 30 amp camper plug on the unit.
Looks like a nice unit
TB camperOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review3/24/2021I'm impressed with the feature set - electric, remote start, LED information center and the fact that it is very quiet as advertised. I did the 5 hour break-in run and changed the oil 3 times with no issues. Ready for the next hurricane. My primary dissatisfaction is with the documentation. The included manual front panel documentation is totally different from the unit I have. I found a manual by searching with google that is very similar. But I still was not able to find the serial number. The only number I could find was a scan code near the bottom of the cabinet. Still not sure that is the actual serial number.
The genset is loaded with features
