I am a liveaboard on my sailboat, in the Keys for almost a decade now. Having a running and efficient quiet generator is primordial in complement to wind generator and solar panels. Did I tell you, I am a woman? Now you know, and this fabulous iGen4500 with electrical starter and fobe is the nec plus ultra! Eating chocolate ice cream while working on a laptop, is easy breezy. Westinghouse has definitely some wind in its sails.

After long research of many brands and gas verse diesel, I purchased the iGen4500DF for an installation on my 41' live aboard sailboat. The unit has many safety features and routing of the exhaust in a very safe and secure matter was a breeze! The unit is amazing compared to my older water cooled diesel generator! I would highly recommend this unit to anyone wanting safe, quiet and smart generator. It would also be excellent for an RV application. I originally ordered the DF version, but was shipped the non-propane model, however I did end up keeping the gas only model. Although I don't have the flexibility of two fuels, I am very satisfied. Keep in mind this unit is not some traditional break out the generator for a storm every 5 years generator. This is one that's made to use for long runs and operate sensitive equipment such as computers. I run my A/C reverse cycle AC unit, refrigeration, digital battery charger and other digital systems and it works so great!

I just purchased the I gen-4500 after extensive searching for a generator for my older trailer. I had a generator that was a gift from my son. Even with 3300 starting watts, it would not run the AC by itself at all, and struggled with just the microwave if it was powering the fridge. And the noise of the motor straining was loud even being enclosed! Enough about the old!!!!!!! The I gen-4500 is exactly what I needed!!! Runs my AC, the fridge, and the microwave, all at the same time, with low low engine speed and sound. I went for power, and sound but it has so many extra features, a 30 amp plug, remote starting, slide out handle tucked away on the bottom, well balanced and smaller size, makes it easier to lift. A little heavier, but with good placement of handles, I feel very confident lifting in restricted areas. Easy initial instructions and setup, 2 pull start up and with no choke, very nice and quiet. I definitely recommend to give this baby a good look. Can't have enough power and with this size, you can't go wrong.

Bought unit in october 2020. Initial setup was straight forward and generator performed as described. I have maintained it as required, started to keep battery charged etc... Went out today, and it appears as though battery is dead, and I had to choke it to get it to start manually. Started on second pull. Charging battery overnight to see what happens. One would think the battery would last longer than 6 months.

Bought the IGen 4500 a couple of weeks ago with the intent that it would be a back up for our home and to operate out camper. I tried it and it worked as advertised, it ran the air conditioner, fridge and microwave at the same time. It is a quiet unit and I am very satisfied.

We are using this on a 1974 40 ft Boatel Houseboat. It has enough juice for the AC, Fridge and even the 20 gallon water heater. When strapped to the swim platform you barely notice it running. I had one issue thus far where it would not start. I had to remove the maintenance panel and two 8mm hex screws to get another cover off of an air cleaner to get at the carburetor and manually flip the butterfly open on the automatic choke. Since then it has been fine. The battery and oil service doors fall of fairly easily when the machine is jarred where they simply do not fit tight enough. It's my opinion they should be tethered somehow. I called customer service to ask what if any protection the igen 4500 has in a case of overheating. They said they would look into it and call me right back with an answer. Six days since and still no call. I also received notice in the box that if I filled out this review I would get a free cover which I'll desperately need but after the fact I find out that they are completely out and sorry. I'll stick with it but at this point its a low 3 rating range. I would recommend it to a friend because of the great power at such low decibels - but caution them to beware.

truly an amazing product from start to finish. if you want reliability without any fear, this is your guy. i bought with limited understanding / knowledge on how to operate a generator and what kinds of things i might want out of the product but this has been a home run all the way though. from incredible reliability, ease of use and set up, sleek design, remote start, incredible run time, great display that shows the fuel level- i couldn’t be any more impressed. only downside is it’s a bit heavier than expected but nothing unmanageable for 2 people.

Bought this particular generator after seeing how easy it was to start and how quiet it was! A friend has the same unit and has been very pleased. I had an issue with the automatic choke out of the box, but after following the instructions on the website I was able to quickly fix it. Just wish they would put the instructions in the box, so you wouldn't have to search out the solution. Would recommend 100%!

I purchased this generator to supply power to my 5th Wheel when I am not in a park. It had to be quite enough to pass the Forest Service requirements. It has done a great job. I will be getting a second unit and use the parallel cable to get twice the power !!

I just received my generator very well packaged. It was easy to remove from box, has all the tools, oil and accessories. The pull out extendible arm and wheels makes it easy to roll and I am a 125lb woman! Plan this weekend will start it all by myself....
