- 5 out of 5 stars review1/12/2022I purchased this product due to one night at the race track when I helped a friend unload this model from his trailer at the track. He flipped a switch and you can barely hear it running, very very quiet. So I got home and the next day I was looking online to try and find a generator for myself and I found some that would work but I am one of those that I saw his, I heard his, so I wanted the same one so I texted him to ask what kind it was. He sent me some pics of his and I ordered the same day. I am very pleased with this product and recommend to anyone who is looking for some great power and very little noise at all.
Great Product Great Price
David70Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review4/8/2022I purchased the Igen4500 to replace an older, smaller conventional generator. Set up was easy after reading the manual completely first. The generator started right up and I ran it for a half hour or so. It's really quiet compared to the conventional generator. It's primary function will be to supply backup power after a Hurricane. So, it will be a while (hopefully never) before any long term usage. I do not however expect any problems because of the build quality.
Great so far
KramdenOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review11/26/2022I searched this generator out for an RV camping trip with my family. I was concerned with the power needs for a 26' RV camper trailer and went with the iGen4500 based on recommendations from other avid RV campers. I was very impressed with the unit and its ability to power the entire unit for my family of 5, including the air conditioner all night, every night, and was very quiet. I would highly recommend this product for anyone looking for remote power for a larger RV camper.
Quiet Reliable Power
BenJOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 4 out of 5 stars review9/3/2025I just purchased the Generator. I've performed the 5 hour break in period as described in the owners manual. So far everything is operating as expected and I am happy with my purchase. The only draw back is the tight access location of the oil drain plug. It could be better positioned for easier access to change the oil.
Great Features
Old DufferOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review4/3/2021Love how powerful yet quite this generator is. And at a fraction of the cost compared to a Honda counterpart. Very pleased with this purchase! The wheels and handle make it easy to transport and fits in the bed of my truck even with the hard trifold tonneau cover. Remote start is very convenient for the chilly mornings when you need to get the coffee pot started but don’t want to step outside yet. Five stars!
Super quite
Earle88Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review4/30/2024I am excited to try out this new inverter generator. Right now we have been using a regular generator and cannot use it for extended periods because it's so loud. I love the fact that it has push start option, and on off remote fob. The eco feature is awesome, too.
Excellent features, packaged nicely!
RoadCheetah13Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/6/2020This is the first generator we've purchased for camping. The features exceed other brands. Set up and startup were easy and it was extremely quiet. Owner maintenance seems relatively simple and we are confident this will charge our camper batteries as well as run our AC and lights.
The telescoping handle is ideal for moving it.
Sally2Originally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review6/21/2021So far it has met my expatiation. My old generator was very noisy. The only problem was finding the serial number. It was on a bar code at the lower back of the unit. No model number or other info that the product registration card says it would have. This should make my neighbors at the NASCAR races a lot happier. We have to run it at night for medical reasons.
Very Quiet.
Dan4KHOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review9/27/2018This inventor was purchased prior to Hurricane Florence. Although we did not have to use it for a long period, it was easy to set up and start. It ran quietly and clean. I powered more appliances and electronics then expected. It ran for over 10 hours on one tank of gas. Highly recommended. Ian
Smart Buy
MarineianOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review9/23/2021Ample power, well presented and very convenient features. My application is residential emergency power with slightly over 2 KVA required so the iGen4500 was my choice to have some reserve capacity, the 30A connector and correct user interface. One connector to my distribution system and done.
Well done user interface
B.TeslaOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review8/12/2022Bought this generator to use as a backup for my shop if the power goes down for an extended period. So far I haven’t needed it but it fires up on the first crank with the electric start. The extendable tote handle and wheels make it very convenient to move around.
Very nice generator
TruckerTimOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review9/1/2022I bought this for my 37’ houseboat, I replaced a old leaking non reliable 2800 generator, it was loud, leaked oil from gawd knows where, but after careful deliberation I chose the Westinghouse i4500, it’s quite, starts right up and run’s my split unit AC, fridge and coffee maker without even a sweat, would highly recommend,… why you just sitting there.. go get you one.. worth every penny
Great features
TomstoysOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review4/2/2021I bought this generator and am very happy with the features. The fuel shut off valve works well. It's easy to fill with gas, and the remote start is a cool addition. The compartments to change the oil and replace the spark plug is a little tight, but otherwise I am very happy with this product.
Very happy with this generator
PhillyfreshOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 1 out of 5 stars review7/12/2018Generator would not start straight out of the box. i got online and read the bulletin stating a wire on the control module may become disconnected during shipping. Followed all of the instructions and the automatic choke is still not working properly. I have to constantly remove the side access panel and manually engage the choke every time. im going to call customer service and let them know the issue.
Generator doesent start
cordellOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 1 out of 5 stars review6/12/2023Generator works sonetimes, issues that the automatic choke doesn’t work? So I need to use a manual choke other than that it works. But It won’t stay running? I could use some technical guidance from you if possible on what to do.I could use some technical guidance from you if possible on what to do

I checked the wire connection for the choke to see if it was one of those that were unplugged but mine was ok. I use it at a racetrack where others are also using generators and this one was the most quiet of all these. It ran all day and was good on fuel and gave plenty of power for my needs. Good product.
Better than I hoped!
BlacksheepOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review4/21/2019I was looking to purchase a moderately priced generator and I found this gem it's perfect for my travel trailer. I really liked the direct TT 30 hook up.And is very light and easy to move around. Everything you need to start this gen.comes in the box EXCEPT the gas. EASY AS YOU CAN GET. I would recommend to anyone in need of a GREAT gen. .
excellent generator
ILBTSOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 5 out of 5 stars review10/1/2021For camping I have upgraded from the Predator 2000 series to a Champion 3750 with remote, to the Westinghouse 4500 with remote. We love it, can't believe how quiet it is, easy to handle, and fits in the basket on the back of the camper for easy transport. The best part is, we don't even have to move it to use it!
Even more quiet than expected!
Bob in NYOriginally posted onwestinghouse.com - 3 out of 5 stars review10/1/2024Bought last month and seems to meet the requirements. Brother-in-law has an equivalent unit by Cummings that worked well for powering an RV recently. This unit seems slightly louder than I remember his unit to be, but it is very much acceptable for our purposes.

Started right up! As quiet as advertised. Decided to go with the 2500 for all power needed for ice house, cabin cruiser boat and house back up. Sold two - now i have one light weight powerful unit that can go up to 10 hrs on 1 gallon of gas!
Excited to have my IGen2500.
