I am a mechanic and an electrician. The remote start/stop was (and is) very appealing. However, I feared a remote start meant an automatic choke that could fail. I read several accounts of others with the iGen4500 that, right out of the box, sputtered for a minute then stop, which meant shipping the genny to Westinghouse, and waiting 2-weeks without their genny. I wondered if these problems would be related to the automatic choke not working. Indeed, they were. Mine did the same thing. I went through the setup, started it, which sputtered for a minute then stopped. It was not going to restart. It sounded like the "automatic" choke was stuck closed. I opened up the side panel but didn't see anything that looked like a choke. Finally, I googled "iGen4500 choke problems". Score! Westinghouse had issued a service bulletin about this very issue. It showed how to manually move the choke (panel removal required), and presto -- it ran normally! The bulletin called this a temporary solution. "Step 2" was their "permanent solution", which required removing two more side panels (nearly 20 screws) and reattaching a harness that they predicted had become unconnected. Sure enough, it was disconnected. I reconnected it, buttoned it all back together, and now it works like it should. The connector makes a positive latch, so I don't believe this happened in shipping. No doubt it wasn't fully connected a the factory. This is the only reason I gave it 4 stars. Otherwise, I'm now happy. It is surprisingly quiet. Plenty of power for my Airstream. The remote works, Gauges are nice. Get one.

We have been in the market a while for a quiet inverter generator that can run all the systems in our RV. We had sticker shock at the Honda generators and other males and stumbled on the Westinghouse item 4500. Good reviews lots of power for a fraction of the cost. We decided to try and are very pleased with the product. Comes fully assembled even the battery many makes don't do that. Took 5 minutes to fill oil, supplied with a funnel and fuel. Started right up and I'm amazed how quiet, walked 15 feet away and couldnt hear it. This was a no brainer. One other thing for my fellow Californians, one of the few CARB compliant generators.

This generator is lightweight and powerful. It's light enough that my girlfriend and I are able to lift it into the back of my truck without a struggle. It powers our camper when we're out in the woods but doesn't disturb any nearby neighbors with obnoxious noise. Overall, im happy with this purchase and think it was well worth it.

I just received the iGEN4500, it was packed very well, included everything I needed except gas. Unpacked it oiled and gassed it up, hooked up the battery, turned on the battery switch, pushed the start button and it fired right up. I knew it would be quiet but, it was much quieter than my wife and I thought it would be. Can’t wait to do some dry camping in our 5th wheel. I’m certain it will run our trailer just fine. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is I haven’t put it to a real test yet.

I bought this as a replacement for another generator that was stolen. The other one was so loud I almost hated to use it since it disturbed other campers. This unit is extremely quiet. I have not used it with my RV yet, but look forward to being able to use it without disturbing everyone else.

Everything, but the gas and fuel stabilizer came with it. It was in perfect shape. I followed the simple instructions and within 15 minutes had it running and powering our trailer. It's super quiet. We can't wait to use it next week on a boondocking trip.

I am really impressed with this generator, and it's why I picked it. It has a lot more features and for the price, I couldn't find anything better. It has one of the biggest fuel tanks so it lasts much longer than the competition. It comes with a remote starter and indicates how much fuel is left. This is my second product from Westinghouse and will go to them if there is a next time!

I resently used my son- in-laws Westinghouse Inverter Generator. I am elderly & was able to operate on my own. So I ordered myself a Westinghouse Inverter Generator. I love the remote, on & off button, pull handle & more. I could have got a bigger one but wanted one not too heavy to pull so I could be pretty independent! Thank you

This igen4500 is working great so far. Everything was packaged well and is very easy to set up. The only problem I had was the cable for the automatic choke was not plugged in so after I fixed that everything is working as it should. It’s not as quit as a Honda but for half the price the few db’s louder it is it’s worth it

I bought this right after a power outage and have been impressed by the extra features. I wanted something that had an electric/remote start so my wife could start the generator if I wasn't around and this generator does that. The LED display is also a nice feature because I'm able to look and see exactly how much power I am using and if I can plug more stuff in. It helps me get an exact number for power needs of a device as opposed to a general estimate. So, far it has run well and fits the needs I have.
