I bought this back in September and got it all put together pretty easily got the oil it and just needed to put gas in it and run it. A month and a half later after purchasing it I finally get some gas and put it in and now it will not start. Nice looking machine just disappointed that it would not start.

The instructions on how to set up & start the generator were easy to read & understand. Very little work was needed to do this. There were no issues with adding fluid EXCEPT the enclosed funnel (needed to add the oil) should be a couple of inches longer to make it easier. The funnel, when attached, is at a low angle making spills possible. I needed to have a rag under the funnel when adding oil to catch any spillage.

Bought the GEN5300 dual fuel this month and it got here right on time before we got “freezing temperature” warning. Love the dual fuel (gas/propane) function. Very easy to switch from 120v to 240v in case I need to run my emergency transfer case breaker in our home. Thanks for making it simple to use WestingHouse.

I received the generator from UPS the outside of the package did not have any out of the ordinary damage. However, when I opened the package up I found that there was damage on the area that you pull the string to start the motor. I contacted customer support and they mailed me a new recoil and guard. I’ll pause to say that the level of support that I received from westing house customer service agent (once they called me back) was fantastic. The agent told me that it was very simple to install. And he told me that there would be directions in the box. Once I received the replacement part (there were no directions. And while it was pretty straight forward to do I know that my wife or mom could not have replaced the part. The replacement part had to be bent a little bit to fit correctly Once complete there generator powered up great. I ran it a while to break it in and hooked it up to the house and it ran all the necessary components. Only time will tell how the generator holds up. This will be used periodically to provide power in case of a power outage … and will also be used occasionally for my travel trailer. Thanks for an easy to use product My reason for the 3 star review is because there was damage but the shipping box was not damaged at all. This tells me that the damaged occurred prior to shipping. The quality department should not have let that go out the door.

I love in Texas and the recurring power outages have been rough. With pets that require heaters in the winter and food items that need to be kept cold in the summer we need something to cover the times when power went out. This generator cannot power out home AC, but it absolutely can run all of our actual necessities when called for. The dual fuel option is great, dice I almost always have a half tank of gasoline and a couple of propane tanks in hand when needed. Highly recommended!

I bought the generator a day ago and looking at all the reviews on this particular generator I really like what I’ve seen. I don’t have too much time with this generator but it’s gonna run my trailer RV very well. It’s got all the power I need for my RV, love it

Purchased the WGen5300DFv to have available in case winter storms get bad this year. This model has everything we needed out of the box - including an oil funnel, which is a great feature I'm pleased to see added, and the LP hose and regulator. Very difficult to find this feature set in a dual fuel model at such a great price point. I plan to use the unit with extension cords, but with the L14-30 outlet you can easily connect directly to your home panel, which we might do in the future. Load testing went great and the generator didn't skip a beat. You need to be prepared for the noise - open frame traditional generators are not known for being quiet, but that should come with the territory if you're buying a generator, so this was not unexpected. So far maintenance has been pretty easy as far as the first oil change, although I recommend making a custom funnel to direct the oil out of the drain plug to ease cleanup. I'm satisfied with the features and power of the unit, and if we need it for an emergency, I'm convinced it will perform as expected without issue.

After opening my package everything looked and felt good. I got everything install, and was ready to fire up my generator. But, it didn't happen. My recoil handle went limp, and I couldn't generate enough power to fire up my generator. I am highly disappointed with my product.

We bought this generator just before hurricane Ian hit Florida. We lost power and after the Hurricane past we connected our refrigerator and freezer up to it and it ran them with no problem or engine bogging down. I would recommend this model to anyone

This is a good generator. A few things it is missing that I wish it had is an electric start and directions for how much oil to put in. I looked everywhere for how much oil it takes and could not find it. It took a lot of trial and error to fill up oil.
