I bought this yesterday to upgrade from a smaller generator. My house is on a transfer switch and my old generator didn't have enough power to run the well pump, so in an outage we had no water. This runs pretty much the whole house (3 refrigerators, laundry, ground floor and basement) except HVAC (only because HVAC isn't on the transfer switch). Best investment in a while. Definitely more comfortable going into NC storm season.

I bought this generator in May 2021 for use as backup power for my house and for powering my travel trailer on camping trips where there are no hookups. Upon unboxing and adding gas, the unit fired right up on the first pull. The unit has 6500 peak watts and 5300 running watts. We took it on a camping trip and it was able to power our 15K btu AC unit, and we ran our microwave at the same time. It is a large fairly loud unit that creates a lot of power. It does not have an Eco mode so it puts out full power all the time and uses a lot of gas. What's a great feature is that it also runs on propane as it comes (although it puts out a little less power on propane). In my test on a propane tank it ran fine. In all I think that with the power it delivers, the 3 year warranty, and the fact that it runs on propane, the unit is a great value and that I made a good decision in my purchase.

I couldn't be happier with my Westinghouse Generator. I live in Florida so between the hurricanes and electrical storms, our electricity goes off an average of five times a year if not more. This has been a life saver. My Mom is on a feeding tube and oxygen machine so it is important we have electricity to run these. This generator has been there time and again this year. We are very happy with it and recommend it highly to anyone who has doubts.

Add wheels, add no skid feet, gas up, oil up (takes nearly whole bottle...FYI), cranks right up. If it goes out after a couple minutes, it is likely in need of more oil. Check it on level surface with dipstick until you add enough to show on the stick.

After a recent hurricane I was in need of a generator. I did some quick research and come across the Westinghouse wgen5300 DFcv. There was nothing I could find that had all of the features that this had at this price point. I purchased it had it shipped to my house,easy assembly put in gas and oil and now happy wife happy life.

I bought this a month ago to prepare for the coming bad weather in Lawton ok. I was glad that I have the piece of mind in case electric went out ( blackout) which happen a couple of times. The good things in this generator is it runs in gas and propane.

Just purchase it. Well built machine that looks like it will last. The dual fuel is great because you can keep propane forever, and not have to worry about gasoline turning bad or gumming up the engine. Removes the need to drain the gas when storing it. The noise level is about the same as a lawnmower and shouldn't be a problem during emergencies. Overall great generator.

I purchased this generator after a recent power outage lasting three days. The unit appears to be well built. Assembly (wheels and feet) was quick and simple. I was impressed that this unit is dual fuel. I had never seen that before in a small generator. The only thing that I am unsure of is the 240 volt/120 volt selector switch. It appears that you cannot run a 120 volt item at the same time you run a 240 volt item. For example, I could not run my well pump and at the same time have a lamp on in the house. If this is the case, I can work around it. My well pump, hot water heater and stove are probably all the 240 volt that I would use. Probably would not use the dryer. And then I could only use one at a time. This unit was purchased as an emergency power generator to be used at my home during utility power outages. So, it may not get a lot of use. I have not actually run this unit yet but plan to do the one hour break in soon so that it will be ready to go should I need it.

This generator is so easy to use. The quick start guide has simple step by step instructions to get started. Switching between gas and propane is a breeze. I love that it’s on wheels- it is very heavy so the handle and wheels are essential to moving it around.

This is the first generator I've had. It's super easy to use. Love that it can work off gas or propane. Easy to move with the wheels. During a winter storm, we powered a fridge, two space heaters, lamps, electric blankets, computer charging, etc. When we tried 3 space heaters, it did blow the circuit, but we were running them all on the regular 110 plug. Was able to find the special generator cord online only, but didn't get a change to use it yet.
