Just bought this and waiting to use so can't comment on functionality but can on size in comparison to storage area in front of the RV and capacity to safely run 30Amps for outdoor needs! my biggest concern was getting a unit that would fit in front storage space and easy to pull out. It's heavy but not too heavy that a single gal couldn't put a little muscle into it and get it out and running quickly.

I like the features on this unit. Easy to put wheel kit on, You get everything you need to start it up. There's a funnel that screws in to add engine oil {no mess}. This is a dual fuel unit I started it on gas. First pull it started. Very easy pull start. Would recommend this unit and I would buy again.

I did research! Others were always lacking in some area. The WGen5300DFv made the strongest impression and fit my needs. Buyer ratings and reviews and answers to question gave me confidence. Very happy when I got it home. VERY Heavy duty and commercial feel. Read the instructions. Works very good with recently purchased 89 oct non-ethanol gas. Looking forward to trying the propane option. Stored on a covered porch. Only run outside open air on nearby concrete patio. Extra smoke/carbon monoxide alarm and fire extinguisher close by for safety.

I bought the generator to prepare for the winter derecho of 2021 here in Iowa. The derecho didn't knock out our power so the generator stayed in the box for several more months. When I removed it from the box the assembly was very easy and after following the instructions for oil and fuel, it started on the 3rd pull of thr starter rope. I am very satisfied with the unit.

After much research, I purchased this generator as it seemed to have the best combo of factors for my budget. It is compact, lightweight, and very maneuverable for its power and is built very well. Besides the main selling points such as dual fuel, I appreciate the small details like outlet covers, lower decibel rating than some competitors, included engine oil, and its attractive blue color that doesn't scream as loud as most other generators. Very satisfied with my purchase.

Purchased as a backup for direct wiring into the house during hurricane season. Have transfer switch all set up and generator test worked as desired. Will not attempt to run at full load until necessary but looks to be the right size for all appliances/lights with the excpetion of Washer/Dryer and whole house AC.

This generator has great features and can be operated on either propane or gasoline. Being able to run on propane is great if you want to test run the generator as you don't have to drain the gas out to place it back into storage. The data center is great for keeping track of run hours so you know when to perform maintenance tasks.

Bought the 5300 watt dual fuel model a month ago and finally got to test it out. Assembly was straight forward. All tools needed for assembly were provided. 10w30 oil was provided; just the right amount. Very thoughtful that they provided a funnel to pour the oil. Following the instructions provided, I connected my propane tank to it. While most of the instructions were good, I wished there were more pictures to supplement the instructions. After starting the generator with about 4 pulls, it started. We plugged in a hair dryer to the 120V but it did not come on. Then I realized the generator was set to 240V. Once, I flipped it to 120V, the hair dryer came on as expected. Now, I wished the generator came set to 120V instead of 240V. Also, I wished the warning to turn off the generator before switching between 240V to 120V was shown earlier in the instructions. Overall, a decent dual fuel generator.

I bought this to run my camper and my welder, and it works great for both. We camp for 2 weekends a year off the grid and I had no problem running my 30A camper a/c and 2 air compressors blowing up intertubes. Also ran for almost 12 hours on a tank of gas.

After a recent hurricane I was in need of a generator. I did some quick research and come across the Westinghouse wgen5300 DFcv. There was nothing I could find that had all of the features that this had at this price point. I purchased it had it shipped to my house,easy assembly put in gas and oil and now happy wife happy life.
