I bought this item due to recently buying a travel trailer, use it to help open the slide and power the trailer up when I’m not near a plug in works great. Not to heavily to lug around and works great with the 30 amp plug, would recommend this to only my Travel Trailer buddies

I am a homesteader and live completely offgrid. Solar and generator are my main sources of power and they must be reliable. This is!!!! This generator starts everytime with absolutely no issues, runs smooth and is surprisingly great on gas. Just change the oil often. I cannot stress that enough. I finally found a good one!!!!

I bought the Westinghouse generator to be prepared for the next storm to hit Texas and knock out power. After researching, I chose the WGen5300DFcv because it is dual fuel with adequate running watts, is fairly lightweight, and a good price. The generator has great features and will more than meet the needs during a power outage to keep appliances, TV, and other electronic devices running. Can't wait to really see it at work!

I bought this last week. Was delivered with a few cracks and chips to the black protective frame coating. Adding the engine oil is not user-friendly, having to screw in the funnel that is barely long enough to allow the oil to be poured in. Then you have to unscrew the funnel, now dripping oil, in order to check that you don't overfill. Would make sense to provide a container of oil with the same capacity as the oil pan. Ran the 1-hour break-in using propane. Started on the 5th pull. At the end of the hour I plugged in a drop light and it worked. Haven't used yet in a real world situation, like a blackout during a storm. Not happy about all the warnings about not using in rain or snow, as those are the situations where it will likely be needed. Can't rate or recommend until I actually use it in a blackout.

I upgraded from a gasoline only generator to this dual fuel unit. It was well packed and took only a few minutes to unpack it, put the wheels and feet on and add the oil. Started on the second pull and ran smoothly. I have only tested at 3600 watts so far on both 120v and 240v and the generator handled it with no problem and almost no change in the voltage. I really like the versatility of the generator having the option of using either 240v or full power at 120v.

I bought this item during a grid outage imposed by Edison in southern California. During high winds lasting for over 24 hours, some of the refrigerated items had soured. This item saved Christmas for my family with a halfway decent meal and not a total loss. The only regret I have is not getting this item sooner.

Bad storms came through and left large areas without power. After day two couldn’t take the heat and humidity anymore. Purchased this item and was able save perishable foods from going bad and run a few lights and fans to keep air circulating to keep family cool in triple digit temperatures. Under a medium load, had to refuel about 12-14 hours. It worked well for everything we needed in a time of need. My only regret is I should have bought one a lot sooner.

Overall I've been really happy with my purchase. For our situation, this will have plenty of juice to run a sump pump, fridge, freezer, well pump, and so on. It's nice that they include the oil for start up, and best of all is the dual fuel potential. Being able to seamlessly switch over to a 20 or 30 lb propane tank if gas becomes scarce is perfect for us. The one thing I wish they included was in the directions, I wish they had the instructions for breaking in the engine/motor. You can find them on the internet if you search for it, but including breaking in instructions would have been something I thought they would have/should have included. That being said-this thing should last us and living in the extreme rural north...I'm sure we will get lots of use out of it.

except for the oil dipstick being in a really funky and hard to get to spot; setup was a breeze! I wish the manual told you how much oil you need but since it came with a bottle of oil that is 3/4 of a quart and that filled it, we're gonna assume 3/4 of a quart. Was a breeze to get it to start for the first time! Not too noisy, for a 4 cycle combustion engine.

This is a great buy. I have used many generators over the years on Job sites, but I am really happy with this one. It is powerful enough to more than supply all my saws and tools, yet it rolls with only one person handling it. I really like the propane option. It has less fumes, it is less expensive to run, and I don't have to worry about draining gas out if I don't use it for a few months.
