This model Wgen5300DFcv has the features and the the power delivery capability I need for occasional, intermittent, and normally short-term power failures. I have read reviews for a variety of generator manufacturers and models, and I found that Westinghouse is usually highly recommended and has high review ratings. This model in particular has high ratings and is highly regarded for features, capability, and service ... and the price was right. Good packaging and instructions. I may add another review after properly breaking the generator in.

My portable generator arrived today via FedEx ground. 150 lbs and the driver manhandled it no dolly. Struggled with removal from truck but did so with some external box damage. After removal from box, quick inspection showed vent/guard for pull start was dented. I managed to straighten it as best I can so rope pull will spin. Followed all startup procedures and it went great. Tried 110 vac items and it works great. Took photos will see if customer support sends me replacement part.

I've had it for a few weeks now. starts easily, run to everything in my RV turned on all the ones without even going into surge power. Have about 12 hours on it with no issues. I would highly recommend. I've only ran in gas mode have yet to try out the propane side. But I expect no problem.

We bought our generator to provide peace of mind for power outages here in Southwest Florida. After Hurricane Ian we realized a reliable and name brand generator was essential for restoring temporary power. After a lot of research, we chose the WGen5300DFcv. It was a price we could afford and a brand name we could trust. Unpacked, added oil and gas and it started after 3 pulls. We are not wishing for another Ian, but I feel good about being better prepared for future outages now.

We bought this and have been extremely happy. We have never worked or owned a generator before this...it was easy to assemble directly out of the box and had clear, user friendly guide for start up and storage. It started right up and have not had any issue. The ability to go between gas and propane is a plus....literally just a flip of the switch. No regrets!

Purchased this generator during a recent outage and it saved the day. Setup was a breeze. Added gas and away it went. Easily powered two refrigerators, freezer, lamps and several small appliances. Most impressive was getting a full 14 hour run time out of a tank of gas. Highly recommend.

We bought this to replace an older and smaller generator. We love the electric start and the extra power this Westinghouse generator offers. It is also much quiter and smoother running. We use it for our RV and incase we lose power at home. Winter is coming and we feel sure that this generator will be ready when we need it. Thank you for a great product

I just bought this a week ago and haven't had an emergency yet. I have performed the 1 hour non load maintenance and started the 5 hour 50% load run. No problems at all. I am looking forward to having it ready to go on propane without worrying about the fuel going bad. The unit did come with a dented generator cover due to shipping, but everything works fine. My only complaint is there is no part number in the manual or on the filter for the air filter. I like to keep this things on hand.

just received generator 5300 dual fuel...trying to break it in now as per instructions.. removed it from box, read directions, added oil & gas..started on 2nd pull ...so far i like what i see...bringing it to my daughter who has no electricty thanks to hurricane IDA...will update later...thanks

I bought this in april 2020 and it stayed in the box until recently a tropical storm knocked power out in several counties around me. I quickly put it together and started running drop cords for the refrigerator and hot water and the coffee pot....it works great.
