Since it doesn't have rear speakers, it's hard to get true surround sound (though I didn't try to play lossless e.g. Dolby Atmos TrueHD or DTS:HD). But the movies I tried e.g. Blaze Runner 2049 in Cinema mode and playing some music in Music or Bass Blast mode impressed me. If you have LG Oled and want just soundbar with sub woofer without rear speakers, you shouldn't be disappointed

Easy to link up with the tv. I’m not a sound expert, but I can tell you the sound is clear and crisp and the bass will fill the room. It's also got some great bluetooth and wifi functionality. Bluetooth works as expected, make sure to set your soundbar up to only be discoverable when on your wifi network. If you have many neighbors this will help reduce unwanted connectivity blasting their music of choice. LG could make the experience even better if they came out with a TV remote that could control the sound bar as well, eliminating the need for a second remote. I'm very happy with this soundbar

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently moved and needed a soundbar to complement my TV. I reviewed soundbars and came to the conclusion that LG makes quality soundbars. I have been using the LG SC9S soundbar for a few weeks and my audio and video experience has improved greatly. The soundbar provides crisp sound. The subwoofer is not overpowering. It has a sleek appearance. I have a large TV so it compliments the TV in terms of size. The setup was easy. It connects to Bluetooth easily. The volume display is hidden in the front panel but displays different color and level of light to indicate volume. I have not maximized the potential of the sundbar so I am confident my listening experience will be even better. I would highly recommend this product.

We paired this soundbar package with our new LG OLED C4 65” television . . . and it has worked perfectly! It is a very flexible system that’s easy to use and can allow you to quickly tailor your listening experience to enhance your viewing experience. Highly recommended!

This sound bar has truly impressed me set-up is easy. The sound quality is great. I used to have an old 5.1 surround system but that really only provided truly surround sound when the rear speakers were set far behind me. This achieves better levels of immersiveness without the hassle of setting up rear speakers and my current TV room doesn't have space for that type of set-up. I was able to connect it to my phone and WiFi via the LG soundbar app which I've found to provide a very useful GUI for the soundbar which was something I was a bit surprised to see the soundbar didn't have natively even though I'm using my LG C2 tv (which it specifically says its compatible with). The app allows you to easily connect the soundbar to various input sources including Bluetooth and Alexa as well as switch inputs, perform software updates and perforn auto sound calibration amongst many other functions. I managed to wall mount it single handily using the boxed TV tray/ mount it looks neat being assembled to the TV which in turn is mounted to the wall using a 3rd party wall mount the soundbar doesn’t seem to affect TV angle or tilt. The sound only needs a couple of cables (power and HDMI both of which are provided) to get you going. The wireless subwoofer alsi worked straight away. I also like the way it fits perfectly under my LG C2 55 inch TV. They complement each other nicely. Finally the soundbar like the TV is beautifully and thoughtfully packaged lots of dropout and pull off cardboard boxes rather than having to slide the sub woofer out of a conventional box. Which may sound trivial but it really makes setting it up so easy. My only concern is how tricky it may be to add inputs to the soundbar in the future as it screwed into the tray under the TV with limited access to the input ports.

This one by far is the best and easiest to setup, all I did was connect the Hdmi cable and that was it no setting configuration needed. Now let me get to the sound , I am blown away with how much sound and bass is coming from this small unit . It shakes my living room I had a 6 speaker surround sound before and this LG blows it away in every way.

Subwoofer was defective and only played static. Worked with LG support and ultimately had to return it. The stand was also missing, so no love for NewEgg as a seller either. It’s a shame because I really wanted this to go with my new LG C4, but the combination of those two things lost me as a customer of LG, Walmart, and NewEgg all in one horrible purchase and subsequent return.
