I just bought a bag of match light because the coals I started with by Kingsford didn't all burn and the meat I was cooking needed more time on the grill. I started with a clean grill and piled them, and went to light them and nothing happened. I tried many times if one lit it wouldn't spread, and would go out. Don't waste your money.

I bought a 11.6 lb of Match Light charcoal late July. I have bareIy used half of the 11.6 lb Match light charcoal. I got ready to light up my grill today Match Light would not light up. My food I had prepared for the grill had to be cooked in the oven. I tried holding a grill lighter over the pyramid of charcoal as directed on the package. Match Light would not light light after holding the grill lighter for a full two minutes. I did not have any lighter fluid I thought I was paying the price not to buy the lighter fluid. there should be a expiration date or warning that product may not work after a short period of time.

This is the worst charcoal product I have ever used. Had I known that I would need lighter fluid to light these anyway, I would have just bought regular charcoal. These coals do NOT light easily at all. We've tried newspaper, cardboard, matches, almost everything else short of pouring lighter fluid all over it, and nothing seems to work very effectively. We've been trying for over 30 minutes just to get the coals to LIGHT, let alone heat up enough to cook on. The one time we were successful in getting them to light, it took over an hour and 15 minutes to heat up appropriately. I will NEVER buy this product again, and I would not recommend that anybody else waste their money on it either.

I bought this 2 years ago and an opened bag spent 2 winters in my shed. I cleaned off the grill and tossed in the 1/2 bag of MatchLight that I had left over and it lit right away. I had a nice fire going in no time. It was ready to grill by the time my burgers were made. There is nothing else comparable.

Bought a twin pack and for some reason it appears the fuel cooks off and then leaves unlit charcoal behind. We spent 30 mins adding paper and fanning the grill to get it hot enough to finish cooking our meal. First time this has happen with your product and by a quick skim of the 1 star reviews it seems to be a current quality issue. Time to find a new brand

I have bought 2 bags in the past 2 weeks or so and both bags wont stay lite. We prefer charcoal and Kingsford's brand but it doesn't want to stay lite like it used too. Very disappointed when we have to resort back to the kitchen and oven to cook our food.

After years of using kingsford it has now become one of the worst "instant light" charcoals on the market. The past 4 bags purchased have never caught flame like they used to. EVERY SINGLE ONE has required the use of lighter fluid just like normal charcoal. I have to say the quality has definitely lost its touch over the past years. At one point I had even gone back to the grocery store for a store brand knock off that was way better. I kept going back to you, however you have continued to let me down. Its just another disappointment in what used to be a great brand. Sorry kingsford but you have now lost a loyal purchaser because of your product quality.

With the new season, I purchased a brand new bag of Match Light. This is the first time, I wasn't able to immediately light the charcoal. I even went and retrieved my cigar torch, which still did not light it. In the end, I put it all in a chimney and used some newspaper to light it. Has the composition changed?

We have used this charcoal for the past 15 years. We didn't suddenly forget how to grill meat. Your 'new' charcoal no longer cooks, is difficult to use and has ruined many meals this summer. No more. We will not longer be buying your product. I hope others stay away. Save your money.
