I normally buy this brand and have been happy. The last 2 times I purchased was not so good. 1st time had to dump the grill and add more charcoal as it was having trouble lighting and staying lit. The last bag I purchased did not light at all. I had to go to 2 stores on July 4 to purchase additional charcoal to be able to cook for my family. I'm not sure whats going on or if the formula has change but you need to go back to the old way.

I used this product three times and when I went to use it for the fourth time(and I had a guest here) the product didnt light up, I had no lighter fluid(match light ) so I had to go and unwrap my large 6 person grill and fire that up to make dinner for two...whats up with this product ......

I was so disappointed with this product that I felt compelled to write a review ( something I've never done before). After lighting the coals & waiting for 30 minutes before the flames finally died out, I put on a beer can chicken ( which usually takes an1 1/2 hours over med. heat ) , coals never really generated any heat, took over 3hrs cooking time, had to add more coals & use almost a full 12.5 lb bag of coals to cook 1 3-4 lb chicken...wish I would have kept the receipt because I would have bagged the ashes with the remaining coals & RETURNED THEM!!!!

I bought this 2 years ago and an opened bag spent 2 winters in my shed. I cleaned off the grill and tossed in the 1/2 bag of MatchLight that I had left over and it lit right away. I had a nice fire going in no time. It was ready to grill by the time my burgers were made. There is nothing else comparable.

We have used four times of one bag. We were used to lugging clover down while cooking. But with this product food smelled like gasoline. All night we were sick. The second time we kept lid up and did not cool until flame gone and charcoal very hot. This was acceptable. But the last times our clothing smells from it and I can't get rid of gasoline taste which is very light but annoying. The convenience is indesputable, but I will not buy again

This stuff is flame retardant. Matchlight? A joke. This will put out a match in seconds. Won't light with a Bic lighter, killed a fireplace butane trying as well. Put pile of newspaper underneath and burned that but coals just laughed. Lets see if they allow this accurate post about their terrible product.

My husband and I love to grill and although we own a very nice stainless steel gas grill with all the bells and whistles, nothing beats the flavor of charcoal! With the Kingsford Match Light charcoal it takes no time at all to get the grill fired up and ready. The flavor that this charcoal adds to food is delicious and even on a week night we are able to enjoy a delicious steak in no time at all!

I had picked up a bag in the local grocery for a small gathering I was responsible for cooking the charcoal would not light I had to go get a bottle of lighter fluid and use about half of it to get the charcoal to burn. I have used your product in the past not sure why this product failed and unfortunately I burned the bag trying to get it lit I was agitated and didn't think to get the UPC code. I'm sure I will use it again but I just wanted to let you know of my dissatisfaction.

I love the match light charcoal! i always hated putting the lighter fluid on the charcoal because it smelled so bad and i was always afraid that the fumes were soaking into my food. i don't worry about that with match light and it is SO MUCH EASIER to light.

I used to buy Match Light all the time. With my recent poor results of having an entire bag not wanting to light I switched to HEB brand. Now I have moved and there is no HEB I decided to try Match Light again. I bought a 11.6 lb bag to find out they were again just rocks. Now looking for another brand.
