Just tried this product out today, I’m pretty peculiar about the charcoal I buy but decided to try this one out of convenience. Now I can’t say it didn’t work, it lighted instantly and I was happy that my food cooked fast, although the after taste wasn’t what I was expecting. It basically tasted like charcoal mixed with lighter fluid. Obviously while grilling you’re always gonna get that great smokey taste but I wasn’t expecting the aftertaste being like that. Could have been a lot better and made my food a little hard to eat.

I had never used another brand until a family member picked up charcoal for me, and brought home a store brand. Unlike my Kingsford Match Light, I couldn't get it lit, couldn't get it to STAY lit once I finally got it started, and dinner took forever to cook. I did notice a difference in how quickly it lit the last time I used it (first time grilling in a while), and was very pleased. An improvement on an already superior product!

as a father of three i like useing kingsford's match light to cook with on sunday's during the nascar race and i have to say it is the only charcoal i use. it's ready to go when added to the grill and with the starting fluid already in the charcoal i don't have to worry about my small children trying to squirt lighter fluid on a fire,in their face,on someone else or on the ground. it truely is a blessing in disguise. it cook's great !!!!!oh yeah did i mention i am a bobby labonte fan!!! We have used Match Light for years but it only takes one bad experience to leave a bad taste in your mouth. We bought two bags of the charcoal and used it the same day. It wouldn’t light. Seriously, we had to run to the store to get lighter fluid. I hope this is a fluke but not very happy at the moment.

We have used your Matchlight product for 15 years now. We have always loved this product. It lights quickly and has always left the food with a good flavor. I am having serious issues with this product this year. It will not stay hot long enough to fully cook our food. I keep having to put it in the oven to finish cooking. This has happened the last three times we have used it. It gets hot quickly, but isn't staying hot enough to even use up the charcoal. I am extremely disappointed in what we have found this year.We have made the decision to try one more time, and if it does the same thing, we will be finding another product. I think you all need to look into this issue

I do not have tons of time to devote to cooking, so when I want something grilled outside, I always use Match Lite because it lights and heats up very quickly and you don't need lighter fluid. I would recommend that after opening the bag, you close it up tight. Otherwise, if you leave the bag open, the coals on top that are exposed to air become useless -they won't light.

I just bought this and in two days it stayed in cool dry place. ten minutes is a joke, two hours is a joke. started grill at 10:30 for lunch and still waiting, it's now almost 2:00 and I'd still be waiting if I was STUPID,,,, will never buy your product again and will let all know how worthless it is. Only bright moment is we did not have 20 people here waiting for grill to get ready. We were doing practice run. Won't happen again.. Good luck selling this bag of junk. If I had read one warning saying it got old in store as it sat on shelf I would maybe consider using it again or trying it again.But you stared if not opened it could be stored and used up to two years????????????

I rented a camp in the Adirondacks and when I arrived,I discovered the grill was charcoal. So naturally I picked up a bag of match light because of Kingsford's exceptional reputation. In hindsight, I should have gone with the no name brand. It took at least 10 minutes to get the charcoal lit because it kept going out. Then it took well over 30 minutes for the coals to turn gray. I can deal with that but then my food tasted like lighter fluid. I had to drive to the closest town about 15 miles away to get something for dinner because the meal I grilled was inedible.

We bought this charcoal and it would not light for nothing! We tried several times and nothing!!! We finally used lighter fluid, but we had to use half a bottle for this charcoal to light. Never again!! It must have been a dud bag or something but it was a nightmare!!!

I have bought close to $100 worth of your match light briquettes and 3 of every four bags I have purchased I have been unable to build a fire without adding fluid and most times I have had none available with friends and or family all waiting to eat...very, VERY Disappointed with your product
