I have used Kingsford for all of my adult life but the last year or so I have noticed that the brickets are not lighting like they use to. This includes the one I am reviewing now the MatchLight. I have had to use lighter fluid and in fact it isn't working as well as in the past . WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR PRODUCT!!!! I know I won't receive an answer but just thought I would send in a review!!!

Instead of going out for Valentine's Day, we decided to stay in and grill. I bought beautiful steaks and we used MatchLight on the grill. The steaks were perfect and our evening was relaxing and fun, instead of hectic and crazy at a restaurant. Thanks, Kingsford!

my family has been using your products for as long as I can remember.my father always swore your coals were the best.i agree.our family doee not use any other brands.thanks for such a terrific product.please don't stop selling.if you did,i would have to stop grilling. thanks again,margaret lester . longwood florida

I have bought close to $100 worth of your match light briquettes and 3 of every four bags I have purchased I have been unable to build a fire without adding fluid and most times I have had none available with friends and or family all waiting to eat...very, VERY Disappointed with your product

The last two times I have purchased and used Kingsford Match Light, I have had to go to the store and purchase lighter fluid because it won't start. I almost used an entire box of matches once trying to get it to light. The bag says, "No lighter fluid needed. Coals ready in 10 minutes." If this product doesn't get better, I will not recommend it for the price. Spend the money on the regular charcoal and lighter fluid. Kingsford, I have always purchased your products because they have been the best. However, you are letting your grill masters down lately. Help us out, please.

Camping Trip - 1/20-1/22 We purposely purchased the Kingsford Match Light because we wanted the charcoal to light quickly and give off good heat. Well, on the first morning - my husband tried to light the charcoal briquets - it took forever for them to light. Then after they did finally light and the coals starting turning color - no real heat. It took us an hour to make our bacon and eggs on the grill. That night we wanted another fire - same problem with the rest of the bag. We were truly disappointed in the product. We have used Kingsford before but not anymore. We are afraid the same will happen again. (code on bag M2 1 315 3B 0702)

This is how to start it, never have I had a problem starting this charcoal. Take a small mini propane tank (find at Walmart)with a torch that lights with a click of a button. Bam! that's it! Lights it and never have problems with it staying lit or going out!

I generally use the original Kingsford briquettes, that require fluid. I've NEVER had a problem with the original, and love it. Just last night, I decided to barbeque a rack of ribs, and a pack of chicken thighs. My mouth was drooling at the thought of this dinner. Come to find out I needed more charcoal. Ran out & Tried the match light for the first time. I will say that it did light, without any problem, so that was convenient and why I gave it 2 stars.. The smell of the fluid was rather strong, upon opening the bag, but it kind of made sense if it doesn't require fluid, right? Right. So, I carried on. Lit the grill and waited a good 25 mins until the charcoal was coated over with ash, and I felt like any fluid would be burned off! Wrong! My entire dinner was sadly ruined. Everything tasted like fluid, despite waiting. I've always turned to Kingsford, and had high hopes for the match light experience. Unfortunately after this experience, I can't say I'll ever try it again. Literally wasted a whole rack of ribs, pack of chicken thighs, and I have about half a bag of the match light left, that I don't see me using again. I'm sorry to be this person, but I have to keep it real.

Kingsford is by far the best charcoal on the market. And the match light is my favorite as it gets me cooking so much faster. What I love about Kingsford specifically is that you never have to worry about lighting it over and over like the knock off brands. Go kingsford.

I was so disappointed with this product that I felt compelled to write a review ( something I've never done before). After lighting the coals & waiting for 30 minutes before the flames finally died out, I put on a beer can chicken ( which usually takes an1 1/2 hours over med. heat ) , coals never really generated any heat, took over 3hrs cooking time, had to add more coals & use almost a full 12.5 lb bag of coals to cook 1 3-4 lb chicken...wish I would have kept the receipt because I would have bagged the ashes with the remaining coals & RETURNED THEM!!!!
