I have smoked many briskets over the last 7 years and have never been more disappointed in a cut of beef from anywhere. I usually buy choice briskets from Sam's Club but decided to try a prime brisket this time. After smoking for 15 hours, there was still so much fat that had not broken down spread throughout the whole brisket it was disgusting and not fit to eat. Yes I know how to trim the fat from a brisket and this was evenly spread inside the meat. Never again will I buy one as everyone has raved about the briskets I have smoked in the past and they have all been graded choice. No need to pay more and risk such a terrible outcome.

Mostly fat........disappointing for USDA Prime whole brisket. This Prime whole brisket was the 5th I have purchased from Sam's Club and was the most disappointing. On a whole brisket I expect there to be a layer of fat in the middle of the point end. There was more fat than meat...at least 50% fat. I have cooked these briskets on my pellet smoker in the past with no issues, and yes I do know how to trim a brisket. In the future I will purchase just the flat.

I expect to do a fair amount of trimming on the whole brisket. The bottom side and interior of this piece were not prime in my opinion. I marinated this overnight, and then slow smoked it for 12 hours. The short end was great, the thick end was loaded with gristle and membrane.....chewy and absolutely sub-par.

Don't sell me 19lbs with 8lbs of just fat. Learn to butcher better. You can do better. I am specific in how I trim. I was recently left with 8lbs of waste. I do render fat but wow. It was a bit much. Still won an award but could have been trimmed better. In competition I don't have time to do a butchers job. Thanks.

A well smoked brisket is always tasty. Sam's needs to better trim the briskets before packaging, I'm cutting on average 3 pounds of fat off these things. Unfortunately Sam's is the only place close to me where I can purchase DECENT briskets. This is the world we live in, premium prices for subpar product.. it is what it is..

Absolutely not worth the money. After trimming the enormous sections of fat, leaving enough fat to keep the brisket juicy, I only had half the meat I started with. After smoking the meat which rendering more fat, I think my price per pound was more that if I had bought some filet mignon steaks and grilled them for a 5 minutes a side. This purchase was a huge disappointment.

I finally splurged to get the prime and see if it's worth the price. No way, it's garbage. I opened it and the point was half falling off. Over a lb and a half of my meat sitting there, unusable garbage. The rest was either super fatty and had to be trimmed off, or super thin and is going to dry out during the smoking process. The absolute worst brisket I've ever seen, and I paid $3.58/lb for this trash. Thanks.

Need a larger variety of pieces to choose from. More fat than I really cared to purchase.
