While sick and also recovering from surgery my husband drank ensure every day to supplement his diet. It was recommended by his clinical pharmacist . My wife passed away in June of this year from pneumonia and Afib. While in the hospital she was given Ensure with a light breakfast, to provide much needed vitamin content as she had not been eating. During her stay she started to gain weight and strength. She was instructed to continue with Ensure. It was unfortunate that two weeks later she passed away from heart failure.
