Disgusting

This is absolutely awful. First off the color of the meat is white and brown not pink. There is very little fat and is very dry. I was perplexed and looked into this type of fish. it is a type of salmon and its commonly called Chum or Dogfood fish. Its is in fact used in dog food. it is very strong hence the stong marinade. it tastes nothing like the other types of salmon. Very disappointed that Sams would carry this. Time for some mouthwash and a trip to the trash can.

I Like This

I agree with others that the salmon may be a bit over-marinated; I’d prefer a lighter marinade or even a dry rub. That said, I liked the portion sizes. I would be willing to pay more for Alaskan or Pacific Northwest salmon, which tends to be much cleaner in flavor. This was my first time purchasing this item, and I would buy it again, though next time I’ll likely pat off some of the excess marinade with a paper towel rather than leaving it so heavy. I also think it would taste even better smoked, especially if some of that marinade is removed first.

SO MANY BONES

To call this “Boneless” is false advertising. There are literally so many bones in these filets. Not only inconvenient, but incredibly dangerous. I have eaten 3 of these filets so far, hoping that the bones were just a one off fluke… however, they were all the same. I have to break apart the salmon with a fork and then inspect every little piece before eating. I’ve eaten 3 so far so I’m past the point of being able to return these. Disappointing especially with how expensive salmon is.

How does anyone eat this?

Maybe I have been spoiled with really fresh fish but this was inedible. Literally cooked it for my family and we had to throw it out it was so bad. Not even sure it was salmon. Flesh of the fish was white. Really fishy tasting and way too salty. Ordered takeout instead.

WHERE IS THE BLACKENED SALMON!?

I bought this because I have been unable to find the blackened salmon, what a mistake that was. This salmon is absolutely disgusting and I immediately threw away the entire package after one bite. Will never purchase this again. PLEASE BRING BACK THE BLACKENED SALMON!

never again

This was not even salmon? The fish was white/gray and fishy. The marinade tasted of nothing. Oily salty paprika. I would not get this again because the fish was really strange i could not eat anything after the first bite. I have enjoyed other members mark frozen food but this is just a clear no.

Saturated Fat

I think its strange that this "wild caught salmon has a whooping18% saturated fat. " If a package labeled "wild-caught" claims to have such high fat levels, it may be a case of mislabeling. Here is a breakdown of why this discrepancy might exist: Mislabeling (Farmed as Wild): The most common reason for high fat content in a "wild" product is that it is actually farm-raised. Farmed salmon are fed high-fat, processed diets to make them grow faster, resulting in more body fat and white fat marbling. Species Variation: While most wild salmon is lean, certain types, particularly Pacific Chinook (King) salmon, are naturally fattier and higher in fat than others. However, even this rarely hits levels typically associated with 18% of total fat content being saturated. Contaminants: Farmed salmon often has double the total fat and a higher percentage of saturated fat compared to wild, which is considered a leaner, healthier option. The Healthy @Reader's Digest"

Not worth the money

This salmon was bland and there were several bones in each piece (in one meal, I had 7 bones, and the other person had 6 bones before he quit eating his piece). If the flavor were better, I might deal with the bones, but bland and bones is a no-go for me.

Very good salmon

Very good for lunches! Idk what everyone’s talking about with it being full of bones, it says on the box bones still may be present. I’ve eaten multiple boxes and have yet to find bones. But also…salmon has bones. I just slap it on some foil out the package while it’s frozen and air fry it on 400 for 30-45 minutes. Then I pair it with rice and some sliced cucumbers and carrots with the sauce over it. Why people buy marinated salmon and then complain it’s marinated and RINSE it off is diabolical. Tl;dr is good buy it

Not Good!

While they label this fish as being Salmon, it must be at the bottom of any fish I have had. Flesh color and texture are unlike any salmon I have ever had. I've been feeding it to my cats. Be aware that this is Keta Salmon whatever that is. If you look at the first label in the photos describing this product, it say wild caught Alaskan salmon. On the box (zoom up) and on my box it says Keta salmon.
