I am from Italy. I will Only buy Authentic Italian Cheese. Parmigiano Reggiano should have the Rind Stamped "Parmigiano Reggiano" in order to be Authentic. I also look for the AOP or DOC stamp on the wrapping(typically on the back). It should be an Oval with IT(Italy), (DE(German)SP(Spain) IE(Ireland) etc.) and number's that indicate the area in Italy from which it was made...down to the exact dairy the milk come's from. It's the same for All Cheese's Imported from Europe. Just because something "Say's" it's an Italian, French, Irish, Dutch, Spanish, etc. Product...does not mean it's Authentic. Look for the AOP or DOC stamp and it should say "Produced/Manufactured in Italy".

Sam's Club's "Member's Mark" Parmigiano Reggiano by Argitoni is priced less than all the others I've had and is excellent in quality and taste. It is my preferred cheese for shredding into my homemade Pesto, using my fresh garden grown Basil & Garlic. This Parmigiano Reggiano is excellent in texture, flavor and quality!

Has great bite and flavor. If this cheese were organic and from grass-fed cows, it would be even more perfect.

Come.on now. Gonna start my own farm have my hens lay my eggs for dirt cheap . These prices are getting out of hand now.
