Several large solid chunks of beef with some smaller bits. More beef than liquid. No gamey flavor like some cheap canned beef. Not salty. I am very sensitive to salt and did not find this overly salty at all. Maybe it was just this batch, but it was very good. Not quite as high quality as Keystone canned beef but close. I found it to be an economical addition to my pantry. I will continue to purchase it and recommend it to others.

I love having this on hand, so good in many recipes, it is high quality roast beef. One of my favorite things to use it for is Roast Beef Hash, using a couple cans of this roast beef and hash browns in the box, recostituted-(from Sams) and a chopped onion- fry till golden and crispy- after cooked to your likeness- add a can of cream of mushroom soup + a 1/2 soup can water mixed and mix into roast beef & hashbrown very well, over heat. Ive also used Campbells beefy mushroom soup sometimes instead of cream of mushroom. It is amazing!

I bought Butterfield Roast Beef as hurricane season emergency rations. I decided to "pre-test" it JUST in case. FIRST impressions on opening the can was "ALPO" smell put me off, but I went a head and prepared a meal with two cans. Drained one and kept the "broth" of the second in a skillet. I added some dehydrated onion, granulated garlic, and a table spoon of instant brown gravy mix (also emergency stores), and proceeded. The meat was medium-sized and stayed firm through the cooking process. It absorbed the seasoning well. In the gravy, it DOES take on an ALPO look, but taste and texture of the meat is more like pot roast over sliced roast beef. Is it TOP SHELF, no. But I WOULD buy it and recommend it for "heat and eat". As it tasted like pot roast, that is how I will use it next time. A few carrots, potatoes, pearl onions, peas, and Lea & Perrins. Or beef stew. It WILL be replaced for future emergency rations.

This coming from a boiled peanut lover...this roast beef is WAY too salty! It's almost inedible.

This has to be the WORST product I've ever tried. Taste is horrible!!! Fed it to my dogs.

I bought this for an easy way to make some steamed buns. The stray cats wouldn't even eat it.

2 out of 4 can dented with holes in can. Packer had to have seen this and ignored it.

All the cans were dented. As far as taste, I thought the main ingredient was salt, not beef.
