I bought this after going through an extended period of time without power which led to throwing out the contents of my refrigerator. if was easy to assemble the feet and legs. it ran well for the limited amount to time I tried it out using propane. I hope I won't need to use it very often but I'm glad I have it just in case. I was reasonably priced for the features.

I bought my Westinghouse 5300 generator about a year or so ago but just took it out the box on the 3rd of this month we had an ice storm and power was out 5 days and I have never been more satisfied with a generator ever in my life I did it’s job and I will recommend your product to my family and friends…Thanks

We bought this generator in the midst of a power outage. In order to ensure I got the generator running in tip top condition, I used another reviewer’s method of using the supplied oil with 2oz marvel mystery oil and running for 30 minutes on gas, then changing oil with pennzoil 10w30 with 2oz marvel mystery oil, running for one hour on gas, then changing oil with royal purple engine break in oil and running for about four hours on propane varying the load on the generator, and finally changing the oil to Mobil 1 extended performance 10w30. After this, I used the generator for nearly 72 straight hours, going through two tanks of ethanol free gas, and due to ethanol free gas being difficult to find during our power outages, switched to propane for the remainder of the time. The generator uses fuel efficiently, and had no problem running two refrigerators, a deep freezer, the wifi router, a television, a space heater, a medical assist bed and recliner, and BOTH blowers for the gas heat. This generator allowed me to keep my grandparents in their house during the ice storm, and proved to be worth every penny. This thing ran like a top, and didn’t disturb any of the neighbors. I would highly recommend this generator to any of my friends or family.

The bride bought this for me for Christmas. Read instruction manual..wheel & foot mount set up easy. Followed checklist for propane startup. Worked on first pull. Let it run an hour for break-in. Easy to deal w/; lots of instructions and example pictures/images. Very good.

I bought this generator for my parent’s house for power outages during hurricanes. I love the Westinghouse brand unfortunately I didn’t manage to have good luck with this particular generator but I’m sure Westinghouse will resolve my issue as soon as possible.

I actually just bought this the same day I'm doing this review. I went on to register after running past the 5 hour break-in period with no issues. After testing a variation of appliances while running my heat tape on my roof, since it's been snowing, while running both gasoline and propane, I'm impressed with the wattage output of the Wgen5300. Typically, if you don't experience any issues within the break-in period, you aren't likely to have any in the future, outside of wear and tear. After seeing how this generator preforms after 6 hours of running, I intend on keeping this unit for many years. This is the first generator I've owned that'll run on propane and I must say, while I intend to primarily use gas, the propane will come in handy. It still seems to have plenty of power for what I needed even though it's downrated to 4800 running watts. I thought I'd test to see how seamless it can transfer from propane to gas or vice versa. I was able to switch it over to propane while it was sputtering out of gas without it ever dieing. I'm happy with my purchase and after using an 8 year old Duro Max 4400 that still works excellent, I'm not regretting my new purchase.

I bought 11/3/21Received generator all in good condition, with no dings or dents. Assembly was fast and easy. Only four bolt to install front legs. Wheels install with bolt axles and pins, about 10 to 15 minutes. It is little heavy, but easy to move with the wheels and handle installed. Started first with propane. It started easy run well, then gas, also run well. purchased it because of the option of dual fuel to power home light, appliance, in a power outage. It will also run my water well, pump and with propane, I can keep two 22# tank and if more fuel needed for long outage. I can get gas or propane. Would have preferred the electric start model, but was not available any where, and I wanted the Westinghouse for it reliability. I had one before and liked it. It is economical to run that’s good when you have a long outage, so I think it is a good buy.

So far we are happy with this product. I very much like its design. However I was concerned that the oil container that came with the generator has conflicting measurement on it. One side says one thing and the other says something different, hopefully it will be ok.

Purchased this item after 3 power outages in less than 3 years, each lasting 24hrs+. Delivered within 10 days of purchase. Installed feet and wheels, added oil that was provided and gas. Started right up, no issues. Does seem a bit noisy- but previously we owned a quiet run 2000w. When power is out, a loud generator is least of my worries. Plugged in several items and ran great without bogging down. Dual fuel feature seems like a nice backup plan in case we run out of gasoline, but have not used this feature yet. Overall great product.

I am grateful to have this generator capable of powering my fridge, freezer, and small AC unit in case of a power outage. I like that it can use propane or gasoline. There was more setup and assembly than I expected, but the user manual walked me through it well. I tested it on both fuels with good success.
