Purchased just a few days ago; needed for remote power on the ranch; tools, welder, etc. Started with just a few pulls; propane, have not fueled with gas yet. Only used so far to power small appliances to fulfill "Break in period" before actually putting into the field. My initial impressions are: Appears well built, nicely organized control panel, minimal/easy assembly, easy start, and of course portable. So, at this point I have no significant complaints; base on other reviews, hoping to keep it that way! With that said, just one very minor gripe. It would be nice if the break in period could be performed at the factory under ideal/controlled conditions so the Gen. Set would be ready right out of the box!

We are in our mid 70's & after using our son's generator last year for several days we decided to look into getting one around the same size. This model serves what we will need in an emergency. It wasn't too hard to start, it isn't any noisier than what we expected, went together easily enough & can use either gas or propane. It also has a fuel gauge on the top side which is great for knowing when to refuel. We feel better prepared for an emergency even without having a whole house generator

I bought this model due to the dual fuel and 30 amp RV outlet. Having the ability to run this generator on either gasoline or propane was a major factor in selecting this generator. The initial test was done using propane, started up on the 4th or 5th pull and the noise level is adequate for a generator this size.

We lost power to our home from storms. Power is to be out from days or weeks. Bought this unit and set it up to my panel on a 30 amp transfer switch. Not large enough to run everything but we are able to run our refrigerator, lights, water heater and a few small appliances. We've only had it for 24hrs but so far so good. Side note, performance is much better on gasoline. It can't handle the water heater when using propane. When I switched to gasoline I was able to run the water heater.

I brought this portable generator after a hurricane had hit our area during a lot of damage causing power outage for 8 days. It was a great decision, I set it up on day one and it performed great, provided the necessary power we needed for seven days. Will recommend it friends that are looking for portable generator.

First time using the generator so can only give initial comments but so far so good. The generator was easy to unbox and required minimal assembly. Everything you need to get it going is included except of course fuel. They even included tools for maintenance which was a nice unexpected ad. The generator was quieter than I thought it would be and as soon as the choke was applied started right up on the first pull. Overall performance seems to be very consistent for the six or so hours that I used. Thus far I would recommend highly!

I actually just bought this the same day I'm doing this review. I went on to register after running past the 5 hour break-in period with no issues. After testing a variation of appliances while running my heat tape on my roof, since it's been snowing, while running both gasoline and propane, I'm impressed with the wattage output of the Wgen5300. Typically, if you don't experience any issues within the break-in period, you aren't likely to have any in the future, outside of wear and tear. After seeing how this generator preforms after 6 hours of running, I intend on keeping this unit for many years. This is the first generator I've owned that'll run on propane and I must say, while I intend to primarily use gas, the propane will come in handy. It still seems to have plenty of power for what I needed even though it's downrated to 4800 running watts. I thought I'd test to see how seamless it can transfer from propane to gas or vice versa. I was able to switch it over to propane while it was sputtering out of gas without it ever dieing. I'm happy with my purchase and after using an 8 year old Duro Max 4400 that still works excellent, I'm not regretting my new purchase.

Needs better explanation of 120/240V switch... FYI 120V powers the two 120V receptacles and 30V RV receptacle only. The 240V switch powers the L14-30R only. Bracket that holds filter cover broken upon unpacking Time will tell on longevity, just purchased

We bought this 2 days ago and are so excited about setting it up and using it during the blackouts that are predicted here in California this summer. The instructions are very clear and we anticipate no problems making it operational with propane because gas generators are illegal now in california.

Overall I've been really happy with my purchase. For our situation, this will have plenty of juice to run a sump pump, fridge, freezer, well pump, and so on. It's nice that they include the oil for start up, and best of all is the dual fuel potential. Being able to seamlessly switch over to a 20 or 30 lb propane tank if gas becomes scarce is perfect for us. The one thing I wish they included was in the directions, I wish they had the instructions for breaking in the engine/motor. You can find them on the internet if you search for it, but including breaking in instructions would have been something I thought they would have/should have included. That being said-this thing should last us and living in the extreme rural north...I'm sure we will get lots of use out of it.
