I bought this for my father in law in case of power outages. Decided on this model because of Duel fuel. Uses same tanks as our grill. With propane you do not have to worry about leaving gas in it and having it go bad. But if you really need it you can use both and extend your time between refills, If gas is unavailable you can use propane. Most stores carry exchangeable tanks and it doesn't go bad like gas does..

I haven't had a power outage yet where I needed it, but the generator appears to be very solid and well built. I like the digital display to tell the volts and hertz it is producing and the hours run. It needed some carburetor adjustment when I first got it and they promptly took care of it. Customer service was easy to contact and very helpful.

I bought this as a backup for the freezer. My wife & I liked the duel fuel as we have other propane appliances. I had it running in 20 min. including assembly. It comes with oil, a propane hose and tools to assemble. I don't have gas so I started it with propane. Two pulls and it fired right up. If the Total Harmonic Distortion was lower I would have given 5 stars. However electronics is not the main concern.

Bought this so we could continue camping in our seasonal camper now that the power has been shut off for winter. Took it up, followed the easy quick set up directions and it ran everything we need to continue enjoying our time up there. And if we do end up losing power at our home I have complete faith that we can use this unit to run our home.

I bought this generator to replace the Onan 5500 generator in my 1998 motorhome. The Westinghouse generator works well and can easily power my entire motorhome running both A/C units and other appliances at the same time. I like the multiple plug ins and the ability to run either 120 or 240v. Would be 5 Stars if started on the first pull every time, however it does start consistently on the second pull every time using gas for fuel. A primer button may help this. The way the unit is mounted creates very little vibration for a small engine.

Brought home yesterday. Read starting instructions. Added oil with very useful included funnel. Added gas. Power switch on. Gasoline valve on. Choke on. Started third pull. Backed off choke. Ran beautifully. 122 volts. Hooked up a heater and rpm barely changed. Super easy and quite satisfied. Has all the features you'd want.

We recently purchased this Westinghouse generator after going through two hurricanes in two weeks. We lost a refrigerator full of food 2x. We are very impressed with this generator. Well made, easy to start and easy to hook up. Runs our refrigerator, portable AC as well as lamps and chargers for cell phones.

I bought model # WGen5300DFcv, it's got 6500 watts peak power and 5300 watts running, runs on gasoline or propane. We bought it because we are in Western North Carolina near Asheville, and Hurricane Helene knocked out our power for 15 days. And this Westinghouse generator ran like a champ for 12 hours on a single tank of gas for the duration of this power outage. Performing post use/storage maintenance was easy. Nothing but praise for this open frame generator.

My old pred gas genny let me down so I decided to go out and buy this dual fuel WGen5300DFv and I absolutely love it. I mostly wanted it because it has the fuel fuel option because I’d rather be able to run propane since it’s cleaner, more reliable and less maintenance although you do get less wattage than using gas which is okay because it’s still much more than the wattage I was getting from my pred. I strongly suggest getting a duel fuel Westinghouse generator.

I bought this model because it was highly recommended by a friend who has a much larger camper than mine, so it's probably more than I need, but I'll also use it for the house when the power goes out. I like the dual fuel feature, which will be handy when camping off the grid. It seems easy to use and I'm looking forward to many years of use.
