Bought the unit a week ago. It’s still in the break in period, so I can’t keep my expectations too high. Unfortunately, it’s been a bit difficult to start while using propane. I followed the instruction manual to a T. It’s required many, many pull starts to fire up. I haven’t tried gas yet, and have intention to do so soon. Once going, it powers everything I need it to, primarily the deep freezer if my power goes out. This thing is a powerhouse! Max wattage on my large deep freezer is only about 1:10th of the max wattage of the generator. I’ve got plenty of room to use on other appliances if needed. I never want our power to go out, but I know this Westinghouse generator will power our critical items during such times.

Ran the generator for during hurricane beryl. After about 48 hours the generator did not start, removed the lg spark plug the original plug and cleaned it and reinstalled and it started. Ran the generator another 8 hours, it failed to start. Replaced the spark plug with an ngk plug and changed the oil with 10-30 synethic oil and it started for another 60 hours. After power was restored i removed the ngk plug and it was carbon fouled. I’m afraid that engine is not burning the fuel properly

I purchased this generator after my previous generator was destroyed during Hurricane Ian. It was easy to assemble the wheels and foot-rests and after that it was simply a matter of adding oil and fuel. Starting the unit required only two pulls and it fired right up. I liked the layout of the controls making it easy to set it up to power household items during power blackouts.

My father has 2 WGen9500DF generators and they have been great. They have impressive power output for the cost and are well built. My only complaint (as expected with the larger engine) is that they are loud. Based on his experience, and now mine, I honestly believe Westinghouse is the best generator on the market. For my needs, less output than his WGen9500DF and quieter, this was the perfect generator spec. It starts quickly, and seems well built. No battery to maintain is a bonus in my opinion.

We settled on Wesinghouse WGen5300DFv after reading a lot of reviews of various generators. This turned out to be a good choice. This model provides a winning balance of power, features, quality and price. It is well engineered, works reliably, and has a clear user manual. I am highly satisfied with this purchase and would recommend this generator to others.

I bought this a little over a mont ago. Setup and operation was easy figure out. I ran it for the “Break in” period for 5 hours with my freezer hooked up to it without any issue. I no longer fear our electricity going out because of a storm. I look forward to many years of usage!

After a series of storms in my area we decided to purchase a generator. Upon arrival this portable generator was easy to assemble, and had instructions that were simple to follow. At our first use we were pleased at it’s outstanding performance and are planning to use it whenever necessary in the years to come.

Opened the box, slapped on the tires, filled it with oil, put some gas in and hooked up the propane. Took a few pulls and it cranked right up. Have put about seven hours on it. 3/4 of the time propane and about 1/4 gas. Runs like a champ! Purchased it for emergencies, after our deep freeze last February. Hopefully , won't need it but, just in case.

I just bought this for a potential hurricane coming our way. Brought it home and was able to get it put together and cranked over in less than 20 minutes. Start it up perfectly runs very smooth and so far we are very happy with it. If and when we need it, I will come back and add to this review.

Like most jere, went shopping after storms took power out for most of the day. Found this at a very decent price. The two fuel types is an added plus. Running the initial hour to get it settled i and shouldn’t have to worry about those outages again. Also talked 3 others into purchasing while there just by explaining some of the features.
