After shopping for other brands, Westinghouse was my choice. Easy to assemble, easy to start, powered up, runs good. The choice of power, gas or propane is a plus..Can move around easy too.Hooked up my refrigerator, freezer, and other apliances , no problem. The power is great. Would recommend this Generator to anyone. Lights out? No problem, Westinghouse got you covered.

The first time I tried starting the generator, it just wouldn't start. I assumed I floded it with the choke. I tired later and it backfired. I bought some starter fluid and tried again a couple weeks later, and still no luck. I'm not sure if it's a bad plug or coil. I'm going to contact Westinghouse support to see if they have reccommendations.

Bought this as a home power failure backup and also a boondocking generator for our camper. Option for propane is a big plus. Generator runs a 30 amp camper with no problems. Overall noise seems to be less than other generators I've seen. With the exhaust pointed away from the camper, I can't hear the generator over the A/C unit fan. One change I would make is to move the voltage switch away from the on/off switch. Too easy to hit the wrong switch when it's running.

I bought the Westinghouse WGen 5300DFv about a month ago. The item arrive on time, and packaging was good nothing was damage when I unpacked it, assembling & operation instructions was easy, ran it on propane and gasoline, both works well. I live in Austin, Texas. If there's another ice storm or black out I know I'm well prepared.

Currently, our world situation is unpredictable. With the threat of cyber warfare & possible power grid outages we thought it would be wise to purchase a well-known, dual fuel, dependable portable generator just in case we happen to need one. In case of a power outage, this one will power our refrigerator, freezer, microwave, tv, window unit air conditioner and many other small appliances. Its function and use is easily explained.Being prepared for an emergency was a no brainer for us.

Setup, and starting, for the first time was simple for a first time user. Recommend reading the instructions especially if you’ve never used one before. The oil input can be a bit of a mess with the screw on funnel so use towels or cardboard for clean up.

We are very well pleased with this generator. My husband and I purchased this dual fuel generator a few days after hurricane Laura at a great price, compared to other generators that we priced that did not have the duel fuel option. Neither of us are familiar with generators, but found this one to be very user-friendly and easy to crank (Being able to pull the recoil handle and crank the generator was extremely important to me because some equipment require a lot of muscle to be able to pull the cord). Also, this generator has a variety of outlets suitable for any scenario from power outages to camping.

Was looking for a mid-sized generator for emergency power outage situations. This duel fuel generator fit the bill. It seemed to have excellent features including decent power generation and adequate run times. The generator is easy to unpack and assemble out of the box. In less than 20 minutes I had the generator assembled, started and operating. Only ran it for a few minutes to make sure it worked. Based on that first test I give it a 4-star rating. A problem I found in my initial set up is related to adding oil to the engine. The small funnel provided for adding oil to the engine is not long enough to curve upward and has a reservoir that is just too small (see photos). It's almost impossible to add oil without making a mess all over the ground/floor. Also, the plastic threads on the funnel and dipstick/oil plug could be easily stripped so care needs to be taken when screwing them in. It probably is a little loud compared to some generators. Worth the price in mind though.

Just bought this yesterday because we had a storm go by and power outages. It was very easy to put together and the instructions were great. Ran all night, gas lasted about 14 hrs and I was able to power all the important things to include 2 fans at the same time. Noise is comparable to other generators but the closed windows drowned it out. Overall very satisfied so far.

I bought this generator in preparation for PG&E public safety shutdown. The generator does support dual fuel, which is a big plus. And the noise level is acceptable. I was able to use it power all the essential appliances and lights without any problem. The reason why I gave 4 stars instead of the 5 stars is about the user manual. The preparation, operation and maintenance are so complicated that I had to spend couple hours reading the user manuals 3 times. I hope that the user manuals can be simplied and more user-friendly.
