Other good ratings; not a bad cost

I bought this last month, but; I have not had a cause to use it as yet. I started it up and tested for a half hour and it seemed to work ok. Being able to use propane and/or gasoline is a bonus in that you don't have to mess with gas and have to remove the unused portion from the tank. I don't imagine that I will need it often, just for emergency power outages. One drawback is it only having 2 regular outlets for power. My previous generator had 4.

Easy to put together and start

The Westinghouse WGen5300DFcv is easy to put together with a great owner’s manual and instructions. It started right up in 37°F/3°C weather after I put it together. It ran on gas and Propane without a problem when I was checking it after I put it together.

Solid generator with more then enough power

I purchased this generator recently due to all the cold weather that we’re getting in East Texas. In the past, I’ve had different models/brands of generators ranging from champion, etc., and have to say that this generator is way quieter and much much easier to start up. From the point of taking it out of the box and adding the oil it took two pools and it fired right up and ran smooth as could be and comes with everything you need in order to switch over between Natural gas/propane and gasoline. With almost a combined 18 hour run time with one tank of fuel and one of propane, that is more then enough to get you through a spot when needing a generator. I have to say that I like the switch in the side that allows you to select from 120v to 240v. By doing so you’re able to connect up smaller appliances if need be, all the way to a house or camper if you have the correct cable setup.

Quieter than expected

I bought my WGen5300DFv a few weeks ago. Compared to RV camping generators, this Westinghouse is actually quieter. During my practice runs, I’ve plugged in 2 household heaters & 1 shop heater and heard no power surge. I bought the adapter for both L14-30R & TT-30R. I prefer the TT adapter because I can use the TT & 20Amp at the same time and have lots of power with no surges. The generator is easy to pull or push through the grassy yard. The wheels & front feet give the generator a high ground clearance. I would recommend this generator.

Great dual fuel generator

Just received this generator and love it so far. It arrived in perfect condition and has very clear directions. Adding oil and assembly of wheels and rubber stands were simple. I tried it out using propane for fuel and it worked well right away. The generator was quieter than I expected and I'm happy I bought it for emergency backup.

Hurricane Milton

I bought this generator a few months ago as in preparation for hurricane season. I’ve been running it for 5-7 hours straight for the past 3 days soon after hurricane Milton hit and had power outage. Positive: It has been a solid generator so far. Negative: it’s still a loud generator and the power cord rattles off the receptacle ( needs to be wrapped around frame or zip tied to stay on)

Great product

I bought a dual fuel generator a couple of weeks ago and I am glad that I did it. Very easy to assemble. Starts right up. The handle and wheels are very helpful. I had a chance to use it during our camping and I was impressed. It's less loud than my old generator!

Great Dual Fuel Generator!

I just bought this on December 1st. I haven't had a chance to fully use it yet. Got it all set up and started it up to break in. Easily started up (especially when you turn the fuel line on! haha) and put a small load on it and ran fine. A little noisy if you are right next to it, otherwise it performed as I expected. We get power outages occasionally and I have two refrigerators I would like to keep running during that time. I also have a RV and the fact that this unit is dual fuel is one of the main reasons I purchased it. I look forward to using it on the road and trying it out on propane.

Efficient generator - Hurricane qualified

Just purchased this generator 4 days prior to Hurricane Ian affecting our state. Despite not having severe hurricane effects in our area, we did have a power outage for 2 days. Happy to say that this unit was able to provide power to the most basic appliances needed during this time, making our days easy to tolerate. Satisfied with the investment, despite the unplanned financial cost.

Easy to Move

Bought this last month after a major hurricane swept through our area. Key decision factor was the fact that it was a dual fuel. Gas was incredibly hard to source after the hurricane so having a generator that could run off of propane or gas was a must. Also, it was important that we could power something in our house, or take it on the road to power our camper. I will note that it does not have an electric start and my wife did have some issues getting it started on her own on the inital boot. Otherwise the unit works well! We also love having the fold out handle and oversized tires for easy maneuverability.
