This is a great item to have especially if you have numerous power outages as we do.My wife and kids got me Westinghouse 5300 for Christmas, and like clockwork , after a big snow Christmas night our power went off. We popped the generator out of the box and had it fired up in less than 15 minutes and it did everything we needed it to do.Love the blue color and the Westinghouse brand has always been a trusted name in our family for decades.

we are on a power leg that too frequently shuts off due to fire danger. Last year we were saved by a generous neighbor to keep our fridge cold. I decided to have our for this year. Received the generator , assembled the wheels, put in oil and hooked propane. Works great, everything I needed was in the box, easy to assemble. Looking forward to using it for other needs.

The reason I bought this generator is cause I had read they were very good. I do lots of hunting and our hunting camp needed a generator I liked the fact that It runs on gasoline or propane. I myself have already used it on propane and really liked it. I plan to use it at my house when electricity goes out.

I wanted a dual fuel generator based on recent problems with the electric grid in Texas. I found this Sammy's Clubs exclusive model to be my best option after doing some research. Since this is a sales tax free weekend on emergency supplies I made the purchase online and it was ready early for pickup. The generator is heavy in the box but two people can easily lift it in and out of a SUV or Pickup bed. The box is just a regular box and is not designed for easy extraction of the generator. Here's what I did to make extraction and adding the feet and wheels a little easier. I flipped the box upside down and opened it up Then I removed the separate box that contains the wheels and feet. There is a tool kit to tighten the bolts for the feet. I had to cut down the corners of the box to install the wheels. After all that it was easy to slowly tilt the box/generator right onto its wheels and feet. This process seemed to be way easier than lifting the generator out of the box and then needing to find a way to lift it up to attach the feet / wheels would have been. Moving the unit around is easy enough. My wife is able to move it easily. The handle is padded and folds away. The wheels roll good on concrete and hard ground. I intend to use propane exclusively with this generator unless I run out or have an extended power outage, so I hooked up the included propane line to my extra grill tank. The tool kit does NOT include a wrench that is large enough to tighten the propane connection on the generator. You will need a 19mm or 3/4 inch or large enough adjustable wrench to ensure a tight enough connection. After setting everything up correctly for a propane start up, I pulled the recoil start cord and the motor was running before I finished the pull. That made me very happy. The ambient temperature was 75 F so I switched the choke off nearly immediately. I let it run for 1 hour of break in. It was quieter than I expected, but still loud. Tomorrow I will fire it up again and try running it with a load. I feel it will work out just fine for our needs based one a perfect setup experience. Not sure if I will be able to update this as things go along, but I will if I can. I'll also be posting a review on the Sammy's Club site too.

I haven't had a power outage yet where I needed it, but the generator appears to be very solid and well built. I like the digital display to tell the volts and hertz it is producing and the hours run. It needed some carburetor adjustment when I first got it and they promptly took care of it. Customer service was easy to contact and very helpful.

After Hurricane Beryl I was out of power for the next few days and I ended up purchasing the WGen5300. It was easy to setup and small enough to go through my doors of the house when I was taking it outside. My family ended up staying at the living room of our house where I powered up a portable ac unit, a light fixture, a charging station for our devices, and Wi-Fi. I'm pretty sure I could have plugged up a tv but in the next 10 hours my neighborhood got the electricity back. Overall, I am satisfied and that I can depend on the WGen5300 for any power outages to my house.

I bought this generator a month ago after a lot of research and watching YouTube videos. This unit is quality built and I love the duel fuel option. Also, the various receptacles give this generator lots of flexibility from camping to home backup power. I now have peace of mind during a power outage.

Generator might work fine but I haven't been able to set it up yet due to living at high elevation and needing many components changed like the carburetor jet and the propane jet and maybe the HA regulator and carburetor kit. Calling Westinghouse to get the correct parts has been difficult, even though they have been nice, as they keep sending me one of the needed items at a time and the representatives do not let me know all of the items I will need on one phone call. Shipping each time is $10 and adds up, and instead of selling me the one item I need I have to buy four of the same item costing $20 instead of $5. The costs add up fast and I regret buying a westinghouse as I also purchased a smaller firman generator and they sent me the carburetor jet free with no shipping either. If you don't need any help with the generator, like living at an altitude below 1000 feet, then it's probably a good buy. If you live above 1000 feet in altitude then you'll need special parts to compensate for loss of combustion efficiency and could ruin your generator if you don't buy them, and if you call westinghouse you might end up needing further help to figure all of what you need as the representatives are not helping you by letting you know all of what you need for your generator and the details on the items are very brief and so you cannot figure it out yourself.

i bought this last week. I am told if I write a review I will get a cover. i don't want to wait 6 months til i run it to get the cover. I haven't started it yet. i have no idea how it works or lasts. I just want the cover. thank you. I'll update this after I use it.

I was very pleased to receive the generator. It was packed well and 99% assembled. It's feels very sturdy and is very heavy. All good things. With the wheels and large handle, it's easy to move around. We have not ran it yet to test it but I assume it will be fine as it appears very well bit. I'll provide an additional update when I've had some time with it.
