Overall the experience was great getting started. The box was a little beat up in shipping but the rugged frame seemed to protect the generator really well. Adding the feat and wheels to it was easier than I expected given the weight, but the compact size made it easy to manipulate. The controls and hardware are intuitive and the manual's documentation was helpful. The only feedback I have is to improve the documentation to make it very clear that only the L14-30 receptacle works when in 240V mode and the TT-30R and 5-20R receptacles only work in 120V mode. This is clear if you study the schematic in the manual or just try it out. Now that I know it's intuitive to why this was done, but it wasn't obvious to me when I was getting started.

With all the hurricanes and uncertainty going on, I decided to buy a generator for personal use in case of a power outage. Wow! This generator has everything you need to power various electronics and appliances through an emergency. I bought the Westinghouse generator a few months ago and it has been great! I searched for a while for the features that I wanted and Westinghouse 5300 dual fuel fit. I knew Westinghouse was reliable and knew this would be a goodbye and it has turned out to be just what I needed. Plenty of output to power the essentials.

I bought this generator because of the size and amount of features it has for the price compared to all other big name brands.i have owned a lesser known name brand smaller generator for at least 15 years and used a lot with no complaints.i am confident this will do the same.

Generator might work fine but I haven't been able to set it up yet due to living at high elevation and needing many components changed like the carburetor jet and the propane jet and maybe the HA regulator and carburetor kit. Calling Westinghouse to get the correct parts has been difficult, even though they have been nice, as they keep sending me one of the needed items at a time and the representatives do not let me know all of the items I will need on one phone call. Shipping each time is $10 and adds up, and instead of selling me the one item I need I have to buy four of the same item costing $20 instead of $5. The costs add up fast and I regret buying a westinghouse as I also purchased a smaller firman generator and they sent me the carburetor jet free with no shipping either. If you don't need any help with the generator, like living at an altitude below 1000 feet, then it's probably a good buy. If you live above 1000 feet in altitude then you'll need special parts to compensate for loss of combustion efficiency and could ruin your generator if you don't buy them, and if you call westinghouse you might end up needing further help to figure all of what you need as the representatives are not helping you by letting you know all of what you need for your generator and the details on the items are very brief and so you cannot figure it out yourself.

Bought this yesterday, haven't had a chance to put it through it's paces but the unboxing and prepping for use was a breeze. The tools necessary for assembly of feet and tires were included as was the oil. Just need to provide the gas and you're good to go.

Bought for backup during power failure, did not unpack for 2 months after receiving, came with no packaging issues, assumed all was good. When needed preformed the recommended set up and break in. Worked as expected, quieter than expected and would buy again or highly recommend.

Opened my generator today and it took about 15ish minutes assemble the few parts it had. It came with the majority put together and in good shape. It is heavy but with the wheels and handle, it is easy to transport and move around. We also have some built shelving and it fits well under the last row of shelving, on the ground.

I just purchased the WGen5300DFcv duel fuel of gas and propane, generator in excellent condition out of the box. Read manual and start up procedures, generator runs and sounds great. Tested CO function by allowing exhaust to blow in snowblower shut outside and in 20 seconds the generator shut down promptly! Great safety feature. I will run on propane this Friday to test it on alternative fuel supply. The wheel kit makes generator easy to move and I also purchased running generator cover for inclement weather conditions. All in all great product.

Purchases dual fuel unit to replace an older generator. When putting the unit together, the wheels went on very easily. The two feet however had issues with the bolt that was welded onto the frame being misaligned with the holes on the feet. I wound up using a smaller bolt that would fit through without threading on one of the bolts. The second issue I came across was starting the unit for the first time using propane. I followed the detailed setup information but The unit would not start and the data center display would not illuminate. Hey call to support resolved botilluminateery quickly. The unit runs very well and will power virtually my entire house and appliances.
