I own a lot of generators (live on a ranch and need power at various barns and outbuildings) and I needed a smaller generator that was easier to move than the military surplus monsters I own. I bought this little generator to use in the back of a 4x4 Kubota to run power tools. Worked great for that purpose. Yesterday, a storm blows in (New Years Eve) and ice takes down a lot of power lines and shuts down various electric substations. It was wicked cold and our house is all electric. I decided the bring this generator up near my house to run a couple of space heaters because the power company advised this outage would take 24 hours to resolve. This little generator ran all night and ran a space heater keeping us comfortable. I gassed it up and as I write this review, the generator is powering our refrigerator and a few other convenience items and keeping our cell phones charged. Lucky me, buying this “little monster” to run power tools 3 weeks before this ice storm blows in and creates havoc... I’m probably going to buy another one to have in case we get more bad weather (or if my mother in law comes to visit and needs to stay in the “she-she’d” out back.

This model Wgen5300DFcv has the features and the the power delivery capability I need for occasional, intermittent, and normally short-term power failures. I have read reviews for a variety of generator manufacturers and models, and I found that Westinghouse is usually highly recommended and has high review ratings. This model in particular has high ratings and is highly regarded for features, capability, and service ... and the price was right. Good packaging and instructions. I may add another review after properly breaking the generator in.

Has many great features. Love the duel fuel switch and the connection options. Only wish it was able to handle the L14-30R outlet along with the 2 household 120v outlets simultaneously...seems like you can use only one or the other at a time. But, starts up on the first pull--runs smooth but is a bit loud. Overall, great value for the money and would recommend to anyone!! W is a long time brand in the marketplace.

I bought yesterday, unboxed today. I'm happy it came with a bottle of oil with the exact amount so the level was between high and low. the wheels and rubber feet were easy to assemble. it came with a wrench, and spark plug wrench, and adaptor for using propane.

Purchased this generator this past weekend. It had great reviews and seems to be a good value $$$ wise. The wheels and feet were easy to install. It is easy enough to maneuver around. We will sleep better knowing it is here and ready to go if and when the need arises.

We received this well built unit very quickly. It looks great. The packaging could have been a little better. We received our first unit, but unfortunately, it was damaged during shipping. SamsClub did an exceptional job taking care of the issue, and a second one was sent. We still had a little damage on the 2nd unit, but we're keeping it. This unit looks great and well built. We haven't run it, yet, but we're eager.

I have not had to use it in the event of a power outage (thankfully), but, I fired the generator up and ran my air compressor and other items no problem. I love the fact that it can run on propane, and I will not have to worry about in the even of needing it, having gasoline that has expired.

I purchased this generator almost two months ago to use around the farm and to provide emergency power should the electricity service go down. I opted for the manual start instead of battery start as there might be long periods of time when I don't use it and I didn't want to have to rely on the battery to start it, plus the cost difference wasn't worth it for me. Being able to run on either gasoline or propane allows me great flexibility when it comes to fuel sources. The generator always starts on the 2nd pull. IMHO it's not too loud like some other units. I have used the generator to power my air compressor, drills, saws, grinders, and even my 50 Amp plasma cutter. Great buy!

We recently purchased a Westinghouse 5300 and it performed perfectly during power outages here in So. Cal. But, we needed more coverage to complete our disaster preparedness plan so we bought a second 5300 generator to really give our family the protection and peace of mind. This one's Dual Fuel - so Propane and Gas and that for sure gives us additional options. Feature packed and simple to use - great small generators.

I bought the generator to keep my refrigerator running and my aquarium alive. We used it everyday for a week after Hurricane Ian. We had more than enough electricity, so we setup a neighborhood charging station for our neighbors to charge their cellphones, razor, and prosthetic leg.
