[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have several Dyson products, all of which I am very happy with, so I was very excited to use this cordless vacuum, being tired to having to plug/unplug my corded Dyson vacuum. What I like about this vacuum is that it is so much quieter! It still sounds like I am in an airport hangar, but that is true for all my Dyson hair styling products as well, and is completely acceptable. It is very easy to maneuver this vacuum around bed posts and chair legs without having to move them; the head of the vacuum swivels very easily and well. The convenience of having a display of how much running battery time I have left is also very useful, and being able to switch to "Eco" mode is also such a great feature, as I find that with so many battery powered appliances that running out of power is a huge inconvenience. I also really appreciate how one can attach the different nozzle types to either the end of the longer main rod or directly under the clear receptacle, as this opens up the vacuum's use to not only main floor cleaning but stairs, crevices of my closet, in between furniture, cushions, and countertops or tabletops. Now for what made me give only 4/5 stars: while the convenience of having this convert to a smaller handheld unit, the problem is that it gets really, really heavy to use it like this for an extended period of time. I wanted to go over the baseboards of my walls but my hand and arm got so tired as it is really heavy after a while. Thus, I have to take frequent breaks-and my arms are quite strong so it isn't due to a lack of strength! So the convenience of the handheld vacuum option is, in my opinion, outweighed by the sheer weight of the product. Also, I found that on some surfaces the vacuum just wouldn't operate-for example, it worked really well on one of my entry rugs but just wouldn't budge on the other (and it isn't a deep shag or anything), and it also refused to work on my kitchen sink mat that is one of those spongey ones. Finally, it is top-heavy so unless you perch it carefully in a corner or on the included wall rack it will fall over. When I am vacuuming and have to suddenly put the vacuum down I can't just leave it but have to carefully prop it up somewhere or lay it down on the ground. Small inconveniences, but I thought I would be completely thorough with my experience. Those were my only three issues with the vacuum. All in all, it is a great helpful addition to our family of cleaning appliances and I will reach for it often for quick and short cleaning jobs. For longer jobs I will probably pull out the corded vacuum. I would definitely recommend it as an additional vacuum for those consumers who want something quick and easy to just pull out and use that is easier to use than a big corded vacuum but something more substantial that a tiny handheld.
