I currently own two older versions of Apple TV. One is the HD (2nd version), the other is 3rd generation UHD 4K. (The first release of gen 3) The version available now is definitely worth the look. I have an OLED tv and I noticed an immediate improvement in picture quality. And, the apps respond better. It just seems faster and a little smoother. If you’ve got an earlier version, try the new one!😎

We bought this to replace our old Apple TV because it kept crashing when we changed from one app to the other (ex: from YouTube to Hulu). It was our hope that a new box (with updated hardware) would solve these issues. Unfortunately, these apps are still very "buggy" on this platform. To be fair, we don't seem to have issues when we stay entirely within Apple TV+, but we bought this box to stream each of our mainline services. So, I'm giving it 3-stars to hopefully compel Apple to pressure Hulu and YouTube to get their act together for this platform. BTW, we have several Roku boxes in the house (and office), each of which have none of these issues, so it's entirely an issue on Apple TV boxes. Beyond that, the feature set and picture quality of this Apple TV is far superior to the Roku or any other streaming device out there. So, if you "must have" an Apple TV - just because it's from Apple, then this will work for you. But, if your primary goal is to buy the very best pure streaming device on the market, this is not it.

The unit is more than just functional it has engineered elegance as do all Apple products. Compared to the roku 4K it is very heavy where the roku is light and cheap. The unit is fast and responsive when navigating the screens. Fast chip. The remote is solid aluminum and cold to the touch. Apple tv free for 3 months and Apple released a ton of content this year. Well worth the extra cost compared to fire, roku etc. And I am not an apple fanatic. Enjoy!

Years ago I traded my Apple TV for a Roku Ultra after getting annoyed with the amount of times I would need to restart the item after glitches but recently after getting fed up with the annoying ads on the Roku home screen I decided to try Apple and see if they have improved any on there streaming box and I honestly believe they've got worse... There only plus to a Roku in my opinion is there clean interface and lack of ads, I don't use the mirroring nor listen to music on my TV so all those Apple things don't do anything for me on my TV. There colors are horribly oversaturated on my LG OLED, any color that normally pops just screeches- neon colors are ridiculous. The orange color of a Coast Guard helicopter which is a vivid orange looks like it's glowing with a halo. Lady with hot pink hair looks like her head has a pink fire going on it. My previous ROKU ultra and apps on tv all appear perfect no matter if 4K, 1080, HDR... they all make for some impressive HDR content on my LG OLED, the Apple TV is the first time I have ever reached for the remote to try adjusting colors and to no avail does any setting on Apple TV correct this, and I refuse to adjust my TV as that is not the issue. My next issue is the remote, I just freaking hate it. Nearly a month and it's not grown on me, the Roku is much better in my opinion. Next issue- I still end up having to reset this stupid thing because of it freezing up at least every other day where the Roku maybe once every 2 weeks. Apple is not perfect but I normally find myself most happy with there products but in my opinion Roku is better in the streaming box department and this Apple TV will be going back. Gave it 2 stars because I'm sure there are streaming boxes worse out there but fortunately I have not used one.

one would expect a delivery to be delivered, not thrown or left in front an address for anyone literally on the street to just grab it ans walk away with an item i was billed 147.00 dollars for. why did i cancel membership with walmart plus? you cant be trusted to simply "deliver" something smaller than a brick.

Makes streaming services work that much better and so much less lag. Love that I can use Apple Fitness directly on my TV. Other side benefit is I can download some shows / movies for when my internet goes down, which with all the construction near our subdivision is very often! Highly recommend. Also worth picking up in Amazon the silicone remote cover so it won't scratch remote / make it more durable. Love that remote is rechargeable via usb-c

I have and android phone and tablet and a windows pc, but this is far and away the best tv streamer. There are a few little frustrations if you dont have an iphone or ipad, but most can be worked around. if you have an iphone or ipad i think this is a must have for your main tv even if it is smart tv or you have a roku or fire stick already this just blows them out of the water.

Replaced my older 64GB model because it would quit playing visual YouTube channels after 10 minutes. Sound was OK, but with a blank screen. Other functions were fine with the unit. The new Apple TV has more storage available and a nicer remote. The “puck” is much lighter than my 64GB model, making it easier to slide off my TV console.

Bought this to replace a Chromecast Ultra, and this is just better. The picture quality is better, I can actually sign in to YouTube (why did Google remove that on Chromecast?) and everything works and plays correctly. It would be much easier to set up with an iPhone, but I have an Android device so I had to painstakingly type my password in with the onscreen keyboard which took several minutes (long random alphanumeric password). Otherwise, setup was very easy.

Love it. Has Paramount Plus and Disney and Netflix,Prime, Pluto and more even can have cable tv. Has Smart home features that you can set up in Apple home app which are cool like asking Siri to turn on tv or scheduling times for tv to come on or etc. It comes with 4k HDR which is amazing looks good and sounds great with Dolby Vision Surround Sound.
