My TV came with google TV pre-installed, which isn’t the best. The apps don’t work, aren’t available, or are slow. The Apple TV alleviates all these problems, and being an Apple product, works flawlessly with other Apple products in the ecosystem. Whether casting, or controlling the TV from my phone, it’s fast and seamless. If you use Apple devices, or want the best option for a smart TV, this is the direction to go. Even though the price recently increased, I would still buy this again.

Our favorite new feature for this device, and the reason that we upgraded to the new version is using FaceTime on our TV. The Apple TV connects to a phone or an iPad to use as the camera and microphone. And the camera software in the device will zoom the camera to this person speaking. It’s magic!, and we get to see our kids life-size on the TV screen instead of on our tiny phone screens. Love love love this feature.

The Apple TV is a pretty good streaming device. The Roku is more into. It is easier to use for most people. Apple TV doesn’t have ads so this pros and cons I would say it’s kind of expensive for what you get and with the price increase that they just had it’s not worth it.

The setup was a bit frustrating since the Bluetooth option has not worked, so I may need to troubleshoot to see what the issue is. I bypassed it by using Wi-Fi. So far, it is working great once you understand how it works. Definitely recommend it; you can get it during the deals, like the one offered last week for 149. Much better than the other similar products.

I bought the last one online a few days after Apple raised prices. It might feel outdated compared to the new Apple TV 4K rumored to release in September 2026 with AI features, but I do not see why a better Siri would be a dealer breaker. I can live without a better Siri like I always have. I bought a refurbished model from Apple as my first Apple TV 4K in 2023 and I still love it. I delayed buying another Apple TV 4K for another room because an Apple TV 4K was always rumored to released with better features. That time never came, and when Apple increased product prices, I knew my time to upgrade was now. Once the new Apple TV 4K with AI features releases and goes on sale, I will consider buying because $249 for an Apple TV 4K is not worth it.

It’s priced a little high for technology that’s a few years old, but it’s a great product that works extremely well. I’m extremely pleased with the performance and quality. I would buy again and I would recommend this.

Its worth the investment. I have 5 TV's with Roku systems that all went down with the last ROKU software update. ROKU is helpless to fix it so I was forced into Apple TV to play from my home media server. I learned the Apple TV is a far superior product over the ROKU ultra. It decodes 5.1 aac audio vs the Roku's limited 2 channel decoding. And the media player apps are superior. My home movie collection now looks like Netflix or Hulu. Every movie off the network storage drive has movie poster thumbnails. It rocks.

I really like the apple TV but I feel they tried to get too fancy with the remote. The touch pad for the thumb causes more issues than it solves. The arrow buttons are a bit harder to hit consistently compared to a Roku remote. That said, the 128GB model seems to keep more apps in memory once you've loaded them, so switching from , say, Netflix to HBO Max is much faster than it would be on a Roku .

Physically slick but disappointing smart home functions. The curated Apple App store has only a limited choice of very pricey apps for my IP cameras. Very poor in comparison with alternative smart TV dongle options. Also I don't see how this device can be the effective hub of any smart device ecosystem when it is inactive when the TV is turned off., and there is no native control of Apple Home devices. Also there is the wider issue of Apple Home (previous Homekit) easily breaking with my smart home devices (e.g. Leviton). Save your money and get something better.

This review reflects WalMart and not the product. I did not receive the advertised item and WalMart made it impossible to get any support or help by chat, phone, or email. Every avenue met with ghosting and resulted in initiating a chargeback. I won’t use the words in this review as I am sure this review won’t post with the use of colorful language, but please choose the worse series of insults and swear words and insert them here for how I feel about WalMart and the way they handled this situation. I purchased an Apple TV from another vendor and love it. I highly recommend Apple TVs over other streaming media devices as the user interface and overall hardware experience is frictionless when compared to others.
