To begin, I wasn't planning on purchasing this washer; I had one that seemed to be working just fine. But overnight the motor seized up and here we are. My previous washing machine was also a LG but it lasted 13+ years, so I'm OK with replacing it. It worked hard for a long time. I love all the features this machine comes with, but there is a low-grade musty smell that I can't quite get rid of - I've run tub clean, added bleach, wiped down the drum, leave the door and detergent tray open, but it's still there.... I still have few more things to try, but this should not be an issue with a BRAND NEW washer! Also, I cannot get it to pair with the ThinQ app. I've tried multiple times, looked up YouTube videos to follow the process and still it won't connect. Nothing major but if I have the feature, I would like to use it! I own quite a few LG appliances and am very happy overall, but this takes away from what could be a great experience. To be fair, the washer does a great job washing. The clothes are almost dry when I take them out and it has reduced my dryer time considerably. I haven't tried the steam settings on the washer, but I probably will purchase the matching dryer when the old one gives out. The steam feature of the dryer will be helpful for the household. Oh, and there appears to be no volume control like my old washer. My laundry is right outside my son's bedroom and I like to run a load of clothes early in the morning and feel like it's loud enough to wake him up. Both my washer and dryer allowed me to turn the sound very low or even off. This might be a feature that is available, but if so, it's not easy to find! If I could clear up the musty smell, I would be willing to give it 5 stars.

I also never thought I would need an app for my washer and dryer but it is quite a great feature for those who quickly forget they are doing laundry.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We replaced our 10 yr old LG that started to give us trouble on the spin, seems that they only live for the 10 yr warranty, but we were very happy with our previous LG washer, and we still have the drier stacked up, so we wanted to get the newer model so things would fit. We are so far, after 1 month, very happy with the washer, we probably spent more than what we wanted but this is something that is critical so we went with this model that has great features. I am still trying to get more from the WIFI other than alerting me when the load is done.

WiFi was a problem since the washer kept loosing the network while the dryer did not.Finally seems to be working. Very important so I don't have to go down stairs to check until I am notified it is done.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had ours for about a month now, and the short impression is we are not overly impressed, but not overly dissatisfied either. On the pro side, it seems to clean well, and hasn't let us down yet in terms of not doing it's stated job well. I had one very large load of heavily soiled clothes that it thoroughly cleaned to the point of not being a concern anymore. On the con side, there are a few. The number of specific cycles for special situations or laundry types is lacking compared to our ten year old former washer that had a plethora of them to cover most any case. Both the direct drive motor AND the water pump are noticeably noisier than our old model as well, despite the product being labeled as "quiet." Finally the wifi connectivity, as other have mentioned, is somewhat of a laughable feature when it refuses to connect or stay connected to my network, this despite having a very strong and stable signal extender located right next to the machine. In this day and technological age, this is inexcusable.

I purchased this new washer unit about a month ago, since my previous washer was old and showing signs of age-related wear and tear. Research collectively suggested this was among the highest rated products for the value. Unit runs very quiet (glad we have it connected to Wi-Fi), is rather easy to use, and has performed flawlessly across the spectrum of laundry needs. Extremely pleased; I expect decades of service.

The new wm4000 works flawlessly. Never has any problem during any wash, rinse or spin cycle. Uses much less water and takes less time to do a load, even when I add one or two extra rinses. I love this washing machine! Best purchase ever.
