I was excited when my old washer finally stopped working, because it meant I could get the LG washer I’d had my eye on. It didn’t disappoint. I’m glad we got the ThinQ technology. It is so freaking cool that I get notified on my phone when a load is done, I have more wash options in the app, and if there are any issues I could check diagnostics. Now just waiting for my old dryer to break so I can get the set...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the many cycles, very quiet pump (way quieter than my old LG washer that we replaced). I really like that it lets me know it is finished with the app. The little song it plays at the end is fun too. Would definitely buy again. I don’t use the steam function as much as I should. I do like that the app reminds me to run a tub clean cycle too.

You customize a wash cycle on this machine or in the app. It chooses every function for you. It's honestly unbelievable you can't set your own wash cycle. I never would have bought this washer if I knew that. In addition, their app to control the device takes so much personal data including the last website you visited.

This washer seems to be high quality although we have only had it for a month. My 3 staar rating is with the tight programming of the user interface. The Owner's manual gives very little inf on how to operate the machine and the online manual isn't a whole lot better. My biggest complaint is the user is unalble to select/change things like Temperature, Soil level or Spin Speed for the selected wash cycle. As an example., some permanent press items may get quite dirty when doing things like yard work. Normal permanent press cycle does not get those clothes clean.

It fits on the old pedistal which has the screw+adhesive side plates, but a new set of side plates and screws is required. The current pedistal design has screw attachements that do not require the side plates. One potential improvement: It would be helpful to have a volume adjustment on the tone which signals the end of the cycle. The wireless notification is only useful if the phone is not on silent..., which ours is much of the time.

Impressive. I had an LG front loader that was over 16 years old and finally bit the dust. (loved it too) So I replaced like with like that is a bit bigger than the prior one. However, this one does have a musty smell even with leaving the door open. This did not happen with my original but I am still pleased with my purchase

There was a slight learning curve coming from a simpler washer but once you get the hang of it, it's simple to use. Even my 10 year old helps us with our wash. Here are a few benefit/features that stand out about this LG washer. 1. Alerts me when the wash is done, so no more wet clothes forgotten in the washer 2. Uses very little detergent 3. Machine runs very quiet 4. Very nice simple design, the rose gold trim is a nice touch. 5. Bunch of preset cycle to make things easier. If you don't see a wash cycle for your clothes you could even download one from the app. 6. The most important thing, clothes comes out clean and fresh.

But comes without detailed operating instructions and it is necessary to learn those details through trial and error experiences. Also, control panel is difficult to read. Finally, low stance makes access inconvenien unless separate expensive and overly large stand also is purchased.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to replace a giant Samsung that was incredibly over-engineered. The previous owner had installed it. It was too "smart," which made it difficult to control the type of cycle I wanted. It had a million different buttons. In addition, it was huge! I'm 5'8", and I could barely reach into the bottom to retrieve damp clothing to move to the dryer. I wanted a more basic machine. This fits the bill. It's nice and sleek looking. A simple knob, and it has every cycle you could want. Great price, too.

Look at LG's photo on its website of the back of the washer showing how the drain hose wraps all around the back. This tells you that the drain hose is long enough to reach a drain on the left or the right of the washer. Then look at my photo of what we got with our new WM4000HBA washer. This is what you will get. The drain hose is so short that it cannot reach a drain to the left side of the washer. Then ask your dealer for a drain hose extension and you will be told that LG does not make an extension and does not sell a longer drain hose and that you have to solve this problem on your own. Since we can't even use the machine, we can't give it a rating of good or bad. I can only say this is not what is advertised and it shows very poor engineering and customer service by LG.
