To save paper.....really?

The reduction in the packet size is such a pain, I am probably going to switch back to Splenda. It spills almost every time you open one and is wasteful. How much paper do you save in a 400 package box....maybe as much as 10 packets would be?? Hardly worth the irritation to the customer.

Good taste, frustrating small packets

Used them for about 8 years and I love the taste but dislike itty bitty packets that are not made for adult hands. There is no extra packet to grab in order to “shake the sugar” down before opening, so right when you open lots of sugar falls everywhere.Plus I have used 3 packets religiously for 7 years and with the smaller size I have to use 4. Possibly going back to another product that is more convenient to use and where I'm not needing to wipe my counter after every cup of coffee we make

So frustrating!!! The packets have less product

They have gone from 400 packets have 42oz to 400 packets having 23oz for the same price. This box still says 42oz but I just bought a box in my Sams and they have new brighter colors but less product. Basically it's now the same price to buy the 9oz jars as it is to by this. No savings at all! I still love Truvia but I think it's very shady the way they changed it to make it look like you're getting the same value.

SOOOO MAD! Less in packets now!

I really like Truvia and have been buying it in these small packets for several years now. I noticed when I purchased a box a few weeks ago in my local Sam's Club that what once was the perfect amount in one packet was no more. The box still contains 400 packets but instead of getting 42.3 oz (1200 grams) you get 28.2 oz. (800 grams) That may not seem like much, spread out over 400 packets, but it is. I now have to use 1 1/3 packets and it sucks because you cannot guess 1/3 of a packet. WHY do companies put less in a box and charge you the same price? I would rather pay more and get what I'm used to. At this point, I am going to find another stevia product or go back to Splenda. It's the principle of the matter and it's not worth guessing 1/3 of a packet and then half the time, the remainder gets throw away since I don't have 3 cups of coffee in the morning. UGGGGH!

Hi Carol. We’re so sorry to hear you’ve had an unpleasant experience. We can assure that while the package weight has changed, the number of servings per package has not. The sweetness of each packet still replaces 2 teaspoons of sugar. We value feedback from our fans like you, and would appreciate the opportunity to further discuss your concern. Buyer beware

I liked this sweetener and, as a registered dietitian, considered this the best sugar alcohol until reading this recent study (August '24) of products that contain erythritol. "Erythritol is a common artificial sweetener. Low amounts occur naturally in fruits and vegetables. It is also made inside our cells as part of normal metabolism. But when used as a sweetener, erythritol levels are typically more than '1,000-fold greater than levels found naturally in foods.' A new study recently published in the journal Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology, Trusted Source, reports that erythritol use may increase a person’s risk of blood clots, which when formed inside a blood vessel can restrict the movement of blood and oxygen around the body."

Why no ingredients shown?

There is a reason they don't show the ingredients, it isn't Stevia, its Erythritol. I also bought pure Stevia and the difference between the two is substantial. The amount of actual Stevia used compared to Truvia is impressive. Stevia isn't great but way better than this Truvia stuff with Erythritol. What does WebMD say about Erythritol ... "There's increasing scientific evidence that erythritol and other artificial sweeteners can be bad for your health. Recent research shows erythritol may be associated with an increased risk of heart attack, stroke, and even death. But erythritol is on the list of "Generally Recognized as Safe" foods by the FDA." "Stevia may also: Affect the healthy bacteria in your stomach, causing gas and bloating. Raise heart attack and stroke risks, because it's often mixed with ERYTHRITOL, which has been found to increase these risks." C'mon Cargill, you can do better ... oh, wait ...

Healthier alternative to artificial sweeteners

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Truvia is made from stevia, a natural sweetener that is a healthier alternative to sugar and artificial sweeteners. The texture looks similar to sugar but it dissolves instantly into whatever you’re making. The taste is different from sugar so it will take some adjustment to get used to it. I just use less so that it is not as noticeable.

New Smaller Packaging

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Dear Truvia - I am all for saving paper and conservation but, maybe when you were beta testing the new smaller package size, you should have used a test subject with fingers larger than a 3rd grader. There is usually more on my counter than in my morning coffee.

Meh?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found this a little difficult to review. These come in little packets so I used one full packet once for a cup of coffee but didn't like the taste. But came to the conclusion that if I used too little, I couldn't taste it, if I used too much, I didn't like it. Having to add "just enough" into my coffee was just a task lol. So I stopped using it.

Packet did seem smaller (and so it was)

Purchased two months ago and the net weight of package was 42.3 oz (2.64 lbs) or $4.83 per pound. I bough last week and the weight had dropped to 28.2 oz (1.76 lbs) making the sale price $6.11 a pound. The usual price of $12.76 will render us $7.25 a pound. Quite an increase. Pkg claims "Now Dissolves Faster." Less product usually does! Last month I would have given a five star rating. From now on I'll be mixing my own (about $4 a pound). Great product; unacceptable price increase. Seriously (Walmart/)Sams Club? At least be fair and post this review.

While the package weight has changed, the number of servings and sweetness per package has not. The sweetness of each packet still replaces 2 teaspoons of sugar. The 42.3oz 400 count box replaced 800 teaspoons of sugar and the new 28.2oz 400 count box also replaces 800 teaspoons of sugar.
