Stevia is the Healthiest alternative to sugar

I use this as my only sweetener and I also buy it for my church to use. I also mix it with coconut milk to use as an alternative to honey in some of my recipes, such as Chicken Curry Roma, which has a Honey-Mustard-Curry sauce.

Repeat Purchase

Truvia used primarily for sweetening beverages and cereals; keep packets in our RV, my purse for use in restaurants, and always in canister on kitchen cabinet. Prefer Truvia to other brands.

Best sugar substitute

We use the packets for coffee and tea. It has no after taste and is great for sugar substitute. Good price too.

natural sweetener.

I really like they are made from the stevia leaf. not real sweet if you want sweet i would use maybe 1 1/2 package. does not leave artificial flavor in your mouth .

Rather expensive

I started buying Truvia as I read that the Stevia Leaf sweetener is healthier. I do like the taste as it's more natural to me than others with no noticeable aftertaste. I used 1-1/2 packets for coffee/tea, etc. in other brands but I need 3 (twice as much) to get a sweet taste with Truvia so I find it rather expensive.

Good value

Great substitute for sugar. Although it seams that the quantity in the packets appears slightly smaller.

Taste Great but made it harder to open

I wish they hadn't changed the package. I used to shake the sweetener down and tear the top off getting all of it in my drink, now there is no room to shake it down, so you tear it over the cup and hope it doesn't go all over the table.

Meh?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found this a little difficult to review. These come in little packets so I used one full packet once for a cup of coffee but didn't like the taste. But came to the conclusion that if I used too little, I couldn't taste it, if I used too much, I didn't like it. Having to add "just enough" into my coffee was just a task lol. So I stopped using it.

Packet did seem smaller (and so it was)

Purchased two months ago and the net weight of package was 42.3 oz (2.64 lbs) or $4.83 per pound. I bough last week and the weight had dropped to 28.2 oz (1.76 lbs) making the sale price $6.11 a pound. The usual price of $12.76 will render us $7.25 a pound. Quite an increase. Pkg claims "Now Dissolves Faster." Less product usually does! Last month I would have given a five star rating. From now on I'll be mixing my own (about $4 a pound). Great product; unacceptable price increase. Seriously (Walmart/)Sams Club? At least be fair and post this review.

reply from Supplier Response

While the package weight has changed, the number of servings and sweetness per package has not. The sweetness of each packet still replaces 2 teaspoons of sugar. The 42.3oz 400 count box replaced 800 teaspoons of sugar and the new 28.2oz 400 count box also replaces 800 teaspoons of sugar. Why no ingredients shown?

There is a reason they don't show the ingredients, it isn't Stevia, its Erythritol. I also bought pure Stevia and the difference between the two is substantial. The amount of actual Stevia used compared to Truvia is impressive. Stevia isn't great but way better than this Truvia stuff with Erythritol. What does WebMD say about Erythritol ... "There's increasing scientific evidence that erythritol and other artificial sweeteners can be bad for your health. Recent research shows erythritol may be associated with an increased risk of heart attack, stroke, and even death. But erythritol is on the list of "Generally Recognized as Safe" foods by the FDA." "Stevia may also: Affect the healthy bacteria in your stomach, causing gas and bloating. Raise heart attack and stroke risks, because it's often mixed with ERYTHRITOL, which has been found to increase these risks." C'mon Cargill, you can do better ... oh, wait ...
