I had read a lot of good reviews about this and so decided to buy it for my family for the Canada day long weekend, when we all travel up north and there are tons of bugs. I first set it up on the patio, it was turned on and had the light glowing. Left it on for over an hour and saw no improvements with the mosquitoes whatsoever. We were all still being swarmed by mosquitoes and eaten alive. It was not windy and there were visible fumes coming off of the machine but it was not keeping the bugs away at all. Later that night, we tried it again outside while we all sat at the bonfire. We let it heat up for 1 hour beforehand. It was still not effective at all, within 5 minutes we were all being eaten alive so we had to go inside. I am very disappointed that this product did not work at all and I am starting to think that all of the good reviews must be fake. Returned it the next day.

So far using this mosquito repeller, it seens to be keeping the mosquitos away. I live in hot/humid area and I did notice alot less mosquitos, and they were hesitant to cone around. The repeller get hot at the bottom and puts out a bit of smoke that doesn't have mych of a smell. I like that you can pretty much take this anywhere.

I was so grateful and surprised that this doesn’t require batteries to use. It’s extremely lightweight and easy to carry anywhere you would like to. My kids like to play in the yard during evening hours and are always getting bit by mosquitoes. This helped keep them away. We loved that it was scent free and didn’t have a continuous misting spray go everywhere. It is very quiet and makes no noise. It didn’t last as long as the box says it does. That’s the only negative.

I purchased this unit in green and one in red yesterday at Canadian Tire. On opening the box we noticed that there was no cover for the thermacell as indicated in the video. How do we get them. I think they would be necessary so that your unit would not get wet in bad weather. I know of others who have bought the same unit and they have a cover. Please inform me on where I can get these covers. I want the covers and Canadian Tire told me they received it this way, i do we get them if i would have known i would have not bought this ones

First day I ran it for over an hour and the mosquitos were still awful but it was a little breezy so I thought maybe that’s why it didn’t work. Tried it again on a calm day-it again ran for over an hour and the mosquitoes were still landing on us and even the machine itself.

I've had this patio shield for a few weeks and I must say that this device works! The mosquitos leave me and my family alone. With the temperatures rising and rainy days coming, the mosquitos are coming out full force. With the patio shield it creates roughly a 15 ft diameter shield that the mosquitos avoid. I can tell it's working as when I walk away from the patio shield, the mosquitos start to bite. I may look to purchase a portable thermacell in the future.

I have been using the halo version of the Thermacell product for a couple years. It works great and as advertised. This year when I decided it as time to start using it again so I loaded it with four new fuel cartridges and new batteries. The unit halo light would not come on. I thought the unit was failing but I tried it again anyway. It still works but the halo light will not come on. I use the light as a reminder to turn it off. Is there anything I can do to correct the halo light?

I bought this product a week ago. It’s definitely a quick relief for a small patio. To me it uses the butane too quick. I used it Twice for a total of 4 hours and used the refill mosquito repellent pads. Not worth it because we live in the country and need something for a larger area.

I live in Georgia and we got bugs of all sizes, and plenty of mosquitos. I have a large back patio where we enjoy our hammock, grill or enjoy the sun, which helps keep the bugs away. It’s best to let it be outside for 5-10 Mins before you go outside but you will see it does make a shield and it keeps you from lathering up bug spray.

I was was really excited to give this a try(The 15ft zone) so that my youngest would be able to enjoy outside without getting but up as he is a bit allergic to mosquitoes and can't really enjoy without getting sprayed down, but It honestly did not work. Once we sat it nice and high, made sure it was lit and staying on and waited to see if it would work we did notice a slight decrease in them but they were still pretty much biting us and we were hoping for a mosquitoe free zone, we've only been able to try a few times due to weather but we will try once more and who knows maybe 3rd time is a charm :)
