My dog can jump over everything it seems, and this is the one thing she hasn't even tried to jump over. She is quite content behind it and it's quite sturdy. My only complaint is that the bottom of the door doesn't quite line up with the bottom of the gate, but I'm sure that is just user-malfunction in the set-up. (It sits on carpet.) I would highly recommend this product for those who have animals who can jump high. I've seen others mention it's difficult to open with one hand, but I would have to disagree. It's not just a simple push of a button, but it seems easy enough.

It is worth the price. I bought it to keep my dog locked up in the laundry room. So far its just barely high enough that she can't jump it, and its sturdy enough to keep a 60 pound dog locked in. At first it's a litte difficult to figure out since the lock only latches when the gate has pressure pushing on all sides. After the first try you'll realize how it works and that it is actually very easy to use in about an doorway. It would be nice if it was a few inches taller and the gate opening was a little wider. Otherwise its a very good product.

I bought this gate to mainly keep out ours cats. Well our smaller kitten can go right through the bars and jump over it. Our larger cat cannot go through it. I’m hoping by the time my kitten gets a little fatter she won’t be able to go through the bars. It works great for our dogs also. Some people mentioned the walk through is small but we haven’t had any trouble with that. We also had to screw ours to the wall. I love the height of it. The only thing we had to get used to was the bar that runs across the bottom we hit our toes on it at first. Over all I love it. We also had to zip tie cardboard from the packaging onto the gate to at least keep the kitten from going through.

If you need to keep a dog from not going up stairs or block a very young child. This is a great gate as it was very easy to setup, is easy for older children in the same home to operate and keeps your dogs downstairs! AND it does not permanently damage your walls! Love this gate!

Finally, a gate our extremely active dog cannot get over, under or through!! We had a little bit of trouble getting it up, but only because our railing was in the way (we put it up at the bottom of a set of stairs). It's very easy to open, close, and lock the walk-through gate. We're very satisfied with it.

It looks great in pictures, but, unfortunately, there is a serious design flaw that makes this gate not really usable. The thing is that the frame is not rigid enough, so there is a trade-off: either it is somewhat loose in the door frame, or it would not open. That is simply not acceptable. We had to return it to the store.

I actually purchased this product to keep our new dog from destroying the house while we're gone during the day (and unable to watch her at night) and so far it's doing an amazing job. So far, it's endured a rambunctious 43-plus pound lab mix puppy standing up and leaning on it and occasionally attempt to dig under (admittedly, I'm compulsive about making sure that it's secure in the doorway), and though we have to twist our bodies to walk through ourselves, my mother and I have no problem entering and exiting our pup's area, nor has she been able to wiggle the thing free or even truly loose in the couple of weeks that we've had both her and it. We intend to continue using the gate to block our pets from the garbage and anything that they could hurt themselves getting into when the puppy has been fully house trained since it's proven so sturdy so far.

I got this baby gate when my son was 18 months and it works well since he cannot climb over it. But by only 22 months he had figured out the latching on the door and can now open it himself! I have to use a dog collar around the gate to keep it closed. I wish the latch would of been baby proof as well. It kinda defeats the purpose if he can open it.

Like a lot of folks reviewing this gate I bought it to control our dogs.We have a shorter gate but a couple of our dogs could jump over it,this one has stopped that. The gate is well made & the black finish is nice..but there are 2 things that I wish were different. First one is I wish the product was just a little bit wider so you didn't have to spread the the stem mounts out so far in an average door way,it makes it a bit unstable.But it does come with some wall mounts to secure it better,so that helped.And the actual entry gate could be a bit wider. Secondly the gate has a stop at the bottom(which I intend to cut off) which prevents it from swinging both ways.So depending on where you install it,it has swing either in or out & it gets in the way.But like I said I'm going to fix that problem. The gate is tall,I'm 6'2" & the gate comes to my waist.As I previously mention the walk through is a bit narrow,so I could see it being a problem for a shorter person walking through carrying a child or basket of clothes etc. Also when the latch is fully latched with the locking mechanism in place it's almost a two handed operation to open it. With all that being said it's still a good product & fits my needs but may not be the right gate for some folks. As far as the ordering & shipping,that all went smoothly & actually got the gate one day earlier than expected.....
