I purchased this to try to stop my cats from wandering upstairs and so far none have tried to squeeze through the bars. There is only one space possibly large enough and that is at the door and it would require lots of investigation and some major wiggling. So far so good. I also decided to not use the wall cups to keep from having to patch holes since my house is for sale and it still is very stable. The only minor problem is the gate is a little narrow and you need to be careful going through when carrying things. It is very easy to remove and put back though.

Don't get me wrong, this gate does the job to keep my dog away from certain areas, but, I think that it could be built a little surdier. I say this because it seems as though it is only a matter of time before my dog breaks the plastic holding the gate together with his constant pushing and shaking. But as of this moment, it appears to be holding up. I gave it 4 stars because it does the job but it is not as stable as other gates I have bought in the past. Also, the extension bars either come as 4 or 6 inches from what i have seen so far. It would be nice if it was offered at 6, but could be broken down 2 inches at a time. That would save someone a lot of headache when setting it up.

We are so happy with this baby gate! My daughter is only 1 but very tall for her age. I'm so glad I bought this gate because it's tall and extremely sturdy. I recommend it to all my family and friends. We recently had a chocolate Labrador come over for the day, and I was so happy we had the gate to keep the dog out of the baby's room.

I've had three different gates before this one, and this is by far the most sturdy gate. Neither my kids nor my boxer can knock it over, and I really can open it with one hand. **I used different screws to install the gates because the screws included, I felt, were too short**

This turned out to be the most wonderful gate ever to keep my little monsters (Jack Russell Terriors) from getting into areas I don't want them in. The height is great, they can't get close to the top. It seems to be wide enough for most doors. It comes with an extension piece, but I didn't need it. I was able to put this up in 10 minutes (without the added door frame supports), but I could have installed it even faster with a second set of hands. It is very stable. If you can't get it to work, then you probably don't have the end turn screws adjusted correctly. If you installed the included (round screw in holders) supports, I think it would also be useful for large dogs. Overall a great price and product.

Finally, a gate our extremely active dog cannot get over, under or through!! We had a little bit of trouble getting it up, but only because our railing was in the way (we put it up at the bottom of a set of stairs). It's very easy to open, close, and lock the walk-through gate. We're very satisfied with it.

I got this baby gate when my son was 18 months and it works well since he cannot climb over it. But by only 22 months he had figured out the latching on the door and can now open it himself! I have to use a dog collar around the gate to keep it closed. I wish the latch would of been baby proof as well. It kinda defeats the purpose if he can open it.

This gate is easy to set up, but is not very strong. We have a 50lb dog that can easily knock this down if it is not EXTRA tight, to the point you have to loosen the gate to open the door! This would work well to keep an animal out of a particular area or would work well for SMALL children. Does not work well to keep a dog confined in a room unless it is a small dog.

I have gone through a few gates by various companies. I was tired of climbing over the small wood one I had. I then had a tall metal one that I couldn't climb over and it didn't open. I found this one and the second it was set up I loved it. The height is great and will keep my large dog away from the front door yet allow me to pass through. So: the height is great, very easy to set up, the ability to open the door and walk through is awesome, the locking mechanism is great, the price was reasonable I would recommend this gate to people with pets of all sizes and /or small children.
