Although I'm a big fan of chocolate protein shakes, and they all have slight differences, I can't handle the extreme bitter taste of this one. Some people experience it as a sweet aftertaste, but my tastebuds don't even get that far. The immediate bitterness takes over all other tastes, including the chocolate.

Texture-wise, it’s creamy for being plant-based, just not as thick as a regular dairy shake. I do like that it’s super clean—35g of plant protein, no dairy, no soy, allergen-friendly—and the bottle is super easy to grab on the go. As for results, I only had one, so I can’t say much about performance or recovery, but the nutrition facts look solid. 👉 Overall: great macros and clean ingredients, but the taste is a dealbreaker for me.

Not the WORST I've ever had, but not the best. I did drink them all, but I ended up having to make like a banana/PB, protein shake smoothie to be able to stand the taste. I know everyone is different, but I would recommend trying this in a single bottle if you can find it rather than buying this whole case of them.

Also since I’m lactose free this is amazing and very high protein for being plant based. The texture is great (not chalky at all) and not sweetened by Stevia (which is not great for gut health). Would definitely buy again!

My stomach can also be sensitive to dairy so I try to find plant-based alternatives whenever I can. OWYN’s Pro Elite Plant Protein Shake in Chocolate checks all of those boxes for me. It’s convenient and delicious. This shake has zero sugar, which is great because I also need to cut down on my sugar intake. It does contain stevia, whose flavor I normally am not crazy about, but the stevia flavor is not too noticeable in this shake. Each serving contains 38% DV of protein, but it also contains 9% DV of Total Fat and 15% DV of Sodium, which seems like a lot, but I don’t know that compares to other plant-based protein shakes on the market. Overall, I really enjoyed the taste and recommend this shake. I received this product in exchange for my honest review.
