We bought the Somerville 14 x 10 Pergola about a month ago as a complement to our recently installed brick paver patio and we absolutely love it. The design and size are perfect for our needs, providing just the right amount of sunlight filtering and shade during the brightest, sunny afternoons. Since we have a front porch with space for dining, we decided to make the patio a space for sectional lounging and we've spent countless days and evenings her ever since. The gray finish looks natural, the quality of the wood and the construction components are high, the assembly was straightforward (2 people over the length of an afternoon) and there were no issues with the shipping or delivery. The built in electrical outlets are a bonus. Highly recommended.

From the great instructions to the final result, this pergola is exactly the thing I was hoping for. It has added a whole new dimension to my yard and expanded the living space. We have delighted in sitting under it in the morning with coffee and the evening with homemade wine. Thank you for a beautiful structure! (My husband is talking about adding one to our vacation home as well.)

We bought this a year ago for out patio. It really elevated the look of our yard, and we receive so many compliments on it. It took about 3 of use to put it together and some patience, but it was doable. I am so happy with our purchase, it is exactly what I was looking for. It should be noted that there are a few flaws here and there in the wood, but nothing major. It is to be expected when something is real wood versus pressed board.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife and I re-stained it with a waterproofing stain with a color of our choice. There was nothing wrong with the stain it came with but, since we had to waterproof it, we chose a different color, and it looks beautiful! We have not anchored it yet, but it is holding steady to some strong winds. The pergola is kind of heavy, once assembled, and we are trying to figure out how to lift it up so we can place the plates/footers and anchor it. Love it thus far!

I have purchased 2 of these pergolas, one for each my front and back patio. I am a 58 yo female and have assembled them both with a little help from my daughters. I can’t say enough about the quality of this product. The kit comes with everything you need but a few tool, the directions are easy to follow and more importantly all of the pre-drilled holes are spot on. These pergolas are beautiful, substantial and top quality. Mine have been tested with 35 mph winds and held up great. I cannot recommend this product enough.

This is a very nice pergola that has added a cozy and elegant touch to our patio. We liked it so much we bought another one for our side yard! We sealed it before putting it up, and the assembly was pretty straightforward. We had one piece that splintered a little and their customer service was fabulous.

I purchased this to be the foundation of a larger project that my wife tasked me with. As my woodworking skills are basic I wanted a solid structure as the foundation that I could then have confidence in adding to. We are delighted with the finished product because of the foundation it was built upon

We are so thrilled with our new pergola! It ended up being a fraction of what local places were going to charge us, and it looks great. Well worth paying for installation, however I wish we'd known ahead of time that the installers do not attach it to the concrete. We're just hoping our winds aren't so strong that it blows away.

I would say this was a near perfect pergola! There were a few issues though so I can't give it five stars as much as I want to. It took me and my 21 year old son about a total of 5 hours to put this together. One thing I would change in the instructions is to build the sides so all four posts are attached, then put it in it's final resting place *before* putting on all the cross beams. This is not exactly light at this point and can only imagine how heavy it would have been had we built it all the way then moved it. Some of the 2x6 cross beams had a slight twist them which caused the 2x2 beams to miss their pre-drilled holes. Fortunately the 2x6's didn't crack while attaching the 2x2's. Speaking of the 2x2's, this is one of the reasons it did not get five stars. A number of them were warped. Because we bossed them around, we were able to get them on mostly straight though. Then the hardware. For the most part, the hardware was great! The cement screws were a joke. I pre-drilled into my cement (have to use a hammer drill) and the bit I used was 5/32" but I still couldn't get them to go in. I guess I should have used a bigger bit? I am glad that each pack of hardware came with two extras since as you can see from the attached picture, one screw had no threads, one bolt had no threads as well was bent, and another bolt was bent beyond usage. Overall, I'd recommend this. It does definitely take two people to build and did go together as long as you follow the instructions and do not tighten any of the bolts until you've got it in place.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my Somerville pergola last June. Delivered on time with no damage. Everything was clearly marked. Only issue we had was with the screws and threading some had to be re-threaded. Put together pretty easily 3ppl about 3hrs. Customer Service was outstanding when I noticed the power port was missing they had it sent immediately. Definitely would recommend especially considering the price and quality.
