Several of my neighbors had bought similar dual fuel Westinghouse generators a few years ago along with interlock kits to be able to power through their home service panels. I hadn't and regretted it during a multi-day outage from a recent hurricane. My old gas generator was running roughly once I had finally gotten it running. Nice not to have to worry about carb issues - planning to run exclusively from propane to avoid this in the future.

Power outages are becoming more frequent and I needed a portable generator that could handle my whole house and out building. The dual fuel gives flexibility if gas or propane run short at the station. Should have things in place in a few weeks to to run as close as a standby gen-set as I can.

I bought this as an emergency backup generator for my 4000+sf house. It took a little while to install the proper electrical transfer connections to the house, but that's another story. Once I was ready to hook it up and test it, the generator started right up (after I realized there was a battery disconnect that I had to connect.) It ran my well, furnace and oven as well as the lights and most importantly my TV and sound system. I'm very happy with this generator. My only negative comment would be that it is a little louder than I expected. It sounds like my riding lawnmower before I engage the blades, but once I'm in the house it isn't really noticeable.

Due to the direction our energy generation is going in our country, feel much better prepared to ride out the rolling brown outs with this WGen9500DF! Wanted the flexibility of the duel fuel capability. Impressed with the design and features of this unit! Next step is to get the sub panel with transfer switch installed.

After months of researching generators I decided on the wgen9500df as my go to generator for my home. The run time of 14 hours on a 6.6 gallon tank of gas for running my 1700sq/ft home minus the main ac unit is bar none the best I have seen on the market today. That's all included running my lights, fridge , hot water heater, garage freezer, 2 computers , a tv and internet. I mean i cant ask for anything more from a portable generator. If you want to run ac unit sure you probably could but where I live its not a necessity.

just arrived today, set up was simple nearly done before driver got out the driveway. only area for improvement: oil included was not enough to bring it up to proper level. Not a big deal if you have some to add. a trip to the store for a few ounces of oil would be annoying.

For powering your home: Step 1. Have an electrician install a transfer switch. This is a separate but necessary item. Step 2. Purchase a Recreational Vehicle (RV) power cord to run the power from your generator into your home. I purchased a 25 foot 50A RV power cord with twist lock from the world's most famous online retailer. Step 3. Follow the Quick Start start directions that come with the generator and you will have your generator assembled and fueled within 30 minutes. Step 4. Charge your battery for an hour. Step 5. Start your generator. Note that it took my generator 7 attempts to draw the fuel and oil from their tanks and into the engine so the generator could run. Step 6. Test your generator's ability to power your home. This generator is able to power my refrigerator, meat freezer, lights and air-conditioner (for cooling ONLY) all at the same time. I can also turn of my AC and power my oven and range. Step 7. Disconnect your generator and go to sleep knowing that you have the ability to power your home with a great dual-fuel generator that fits into the bed of a pickup truck.

I settled on the Westinghouse genset after so investigations. I am well pleased with the product. It was well boxed and in good shape When opened. The wheels and front feet had to be installed but that was a simple and quick. I read the book and hooked up the battery; a matter of pushing two connector together. The oil provided was the EXACT amount needed. I started the unit on propane; it started right away and ran well. I will break ion the rings in the next week or so. Perfect.

After extensive research, I decided on the Westinghouse Dual Fuel Generator. I will warn you right off the bat, this is a Top Quality "HEAVY" Generator. You will definitely need help picking up and unloading the unit. Everything you need is in the box. It was very "EZ" to attach the wheels, hook up the battery and add the oil. I went on U-Tube and watched a video of the installation and learned a few short cuts. I have everything ready to go when needed. The biggest draw for me was having the Dual Fuel options available. If you live off the grid or down the street from Wal-Mart, power loss is very real. I highly recommend this product.

Although I’ve never had to use my generator in an emergency, I do start it up and run it for 20 minutes or so monthly. It starts and runs perfectly. I have an old generator its twice as loud as this one and its half as powerful. I would highly recommend this generator to anyone who is worried about being without power for an extended period of time
