I have owned several generators in the past (I'm 75 yrs old) and never had a problem. Down here in Louisiana with yearly hurricanes we lose power a lot. Almost ruined this one because the instructions about the oil is confusing. First. the unit has a yellow dip stick so when you put in new oil, which is yellow it is nearly impossible to see the oil level. Second,.the oil fill lays at a horizontal angle, (unlike a car which if a vertical fill tube) . so it is hard to fill and hard to read the level on the dipstick and very easy to overfill. Third, they give you a 1 quart can of oil but don't tell you how much it takes when you first fill it up. But low oil was the problem when I almost ruined my generator. At the start I put oil in and added more and kept checking the dipstick then I thought it was full. So I started it and it ran for just about 1 hour and shut off. I tried many times over several days and it would run for only a few minutes or not start at all. I called Westinghouse about one of their service centers. Anyway, after about 10 days I reread the manual and began all over again. Ultimately, when I had rechecked everything I found that the oil level was now showing LOW so I added more oil, almost the whole quart and it finally started and ran fine for 2 hrs until I shut it off. Reading the manual for the 15th time I finally saw where it says under the troubleshooting info, " low oil shut down switch is preventing the unit from starting". This switch must be located internally in either the engine or the crankcase not anywhere that you can see it!!! This i believe was my problem and I sure hope I have not ruined my brand new generator, especially with another hurricane coming!!!!

Just got this shipped today. Unboxed it. Wheels are easy. Insert screws for feet from the bottom pointing up if you want to save time. Will start it up shortly. Only minor scratches on the frame bars. Other than that, seems to be in good shape cosmetically.

I purchased this generator to use in the event of power failure - mainly to run my well pump. I'm confident it will run my pump and quite a bit more. The product was well packaged and easy to set up. The directions could be a bit more clear - many product features referred to in the directions are not called out properly on the illustrations. That said, it is a very well designed and user friendly machine - both in setup and operation

This product was purchased to power my entire home. I installed a separate breaker and 50amp box. We powered the unit up yesterday and it supplied power to everything without issue. The unit only bogged down when I turned on the dryer along with everything else. For reference, my home is 2400 square feet.

I purchased this generator recently after seeing so many great reviews for this product. The great reviews were accurate. This generator is solidly constructed and is an absolute workhorse. I would highly recommend the Westinghouse 9500 Dual Fuel generator to anyone in need of a portable generator capable of running most if not all systems in a home during a power outage.

My son gave this to me so that I would not be without power for long periods as sometimes happens in my area. I hope I do not have to use it, but the basic setup was easy and directions are very clear. There are many YouTube videos that are helpful. It is heavy. I think that moving it will be the hardest step in using it.

I upgraded from a smaller generator. So far this one is perfect. Easy set up right out of the box. Made a few connections and it started right up. Switches between fuel sources very easily. Love the remote start. Now my wife can run it if I am not at home during a power outage.

Just pickup the generator model WGen9500Fc. Unboxing and setting up was very easy per the instruction booklet. Used propane for the fuel source and it started 1st try. Ran 1 chest freezer on the generator and it ran effortlessly, Great Product very glad I got this one.

This has been the perfect addition to our house. I immediately hooked it up to a 100 pound propane tank, added oil and it fired right up. Easy to set up the remote start. After high put some time on the running motor I will flip the breaker and see how well it run to my house.

Purchased to take to South Louisiana after hurricane IDA. The electricity was out almost 3 weeks and the generator ran perfectly powering lights, fans, refidgerator, freezer and even an electric hot water heater. Very happy with the dual fuel and the battery start. If the electric panel was not so old, I believe it would have powered practically the whole house. (Excluding the central AC unit)..
