Extra sense of security

Great unit. Easy to use and start. Versatile with the duel fuel. I’m more comfortable storing a supply of propane than gasoline. When it’s going to be used for an extended period, I can go get additional gas to keep it running while the propane is in use. I had a transfer switch put on the house, so very easy to run everything I need in my home when the grid is down.

Full House Generator

Purchased this generator to replace a smaller Craftsman model that would not power the AC unit at my house during power outages and it gets very hot in Texas. The generator looks great and the assembly was easy. Love the provided funnel, no more spills or drips. I connected a propane bottle to it and started it with the remote on the first click. I could not be happier.

Great so far

I ordered 6 days ago. Good thing, because it is now "out of stock" every place that sells it. It was very easy to set up. I am using propane, and it started immediately. My electrician is coming tomorrow to wire it to my house. It is SO much cheaper than the whole house backups and will power everything except my air conditioners. I live in Oklahoma where we have ice storms in winter and tornadoes in the spring. Now I am ready for both.

Easy set up and quick staart

I'm planning on using this in power outages during the winter and at a remote building during the rest of the year. The unit had a very easy set up. Lift and block the ends up before attaching legs the same for the wheels. It was as easy as it comes. Because I didn't have any non-ethanol gas on hand I decided to try it on a propane tank. Propane hook up is very easy. Make sure to not forget to plug the battery up as I did...lol. plugged it up tested charged. Followed instructions to start the generator with the remote and 2 seconds on the remote start and it was purring like a kitten. It fired up quicker than I believe any other engine ive had before. I haven't put a big load on it yet but it is impressive so far. Keep in mind this unit rolls easy but it is very heavy. Not something you would want to roll to your deer stand.k I am curious as to why the supplied 1.16 Quart of motor oil that is supposedly more than enough did not even get the oil on the stick.

WGEN9500DFC dual fuel generator

We bought this generator after a long power outage this winter, to be ready for the next time. Setup is super simple and the documentation is very good. The overall design is very good as well, and I really like the fact that it will run on either gas or propane with a very easy switch between the two. I have run it for a while with no or a small load, and it is quite sensitive to CO emissions, i.e. doesn't like to be next to a wall or in an open front shed. I guess this is a good thing for safety, but it may take some experimenting to find the optimum place to locate your generator's in-use location. We are very happy with our purchase!

Electric start up mounted on top of horse trailer

I bought this not really thinking that the electric remote start up was going to be much of anything. But it is workimg great. My wife hated the other generator cause she had to climb up top to pull start it but now she loves the remote and i dont have to worry about her doing all that. Very reliable in the rain also if needed. Keeps running and doesnt trip out like others ive had.

Works great

Bought this for a what turned out to be a multi day power outage. Easy to assemble the few pieces that came in the box. Had a bit of trouble getting it to start but a quick shot of starter fluid fixed that. Used for about 2 days with absolutely no issues. Did the first oil change which was relatively simple with easy access to drain bolt. Was happy to find out unit was quieter than I expected as well.

Good features and output for the price

Pros: -electric start, remote start (not all that useful IMO, but it's there if you want it) -trickle charger for the battery -50A output, which is hard to find in this size/price range -dual fuel is handy, if you want natural gas you can always get an adapter kit online, loads of people do it that way -voltages are bang on, 240 and 120V both +/- 0.4V Cons: -heavy and loud, but that's the case with every generator. Not louder than any other genny this size, and quieter than some. -my unit came didn't want to run at first, the governor was revving it up and down wildly and the engine would choke after 30 seconds. Finally figured out it was a kinked fuel hose coming from the gas/propane selector module. Undid the hose clamp and rotated the hose so it stopped starving the carb of fuel, and everything worked great. But it would be nice if it actually worked out of the box, especially if the consumer can't diagnose problems like that. -nominally high THD (<23%), if you care. The overwhelming majority of modern electronics won't be affected by high THD, though I've heard computer uninterruptible power supplies sometimes refuse to recognize that they're plugged in when on generator power. All in all, definitely worth a buy.

Great generator in an easy to use package.

After reading review after review I finally decided the best bang for the buck generator was the wgen9500df. While I’d love to of had the flexibility of the wgen12000df I couldn’t justify the jump in price between the two models. Also the size of the 9500 is just right to not take up to much room while stored. Right out of the box the 9500 fired up and ran flawlessly. The power output is more than enough to run major house items comfortably during power outages. My only real concern with this generator is the <23% thd. This was a major negative for me as I did not know how well it would react with sensitive electronics (which include my nest thermostats for HVAC). After a trial run I have not had any major issues, and most computers/televisions/entertainment/etc. are run through a UPS which would eliminate any distortion already. Overall this is a great and easy to use generator straight out of the box. If Westinghouse lowers the thd I believe it would be the absolute king of generators!

Size does matter!

I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this generator. Best decision I made! I had an electrician install a house plug in the event we loose power. We live on the east coast of NC. Hurricanes and other bad weather will cause us to loose power. This generator will pretty much power the whole house! Dual fuel! Great investment!
