Delivers what is promised!

I last purchased a backup generator in 1999 for Y2K. I didn't use it for the end of earth that our techies worried about, but the regular power outages we get several times of year. Electronic start rarely worked, gas tank too small for a 7500 W unit, and the power was anything but clean. The WGen9500DF has the promised power, is easy to start with a pull, the electronic start/fob both work reliably in cold weather and the unit's gas tank easily get's me through the day as the fob allows me to start and stop unit without going outside. Thanks!

Great portable unit

Needed enough power to power my camper A/C so decided to get one large enough that I can also use for my house as we often lose power during the winter or in high winds. Easy to install the wheels and even though it's heavy, with the wheels and handle, it's very easy to move around, even in a gravel driveway. Easy instructions for pairing the remote and it started right away. It works great and meets all my power needs and then some!

Excellent generator at a great price

After extensive research and reading many reviews about the WGen9500DF, I decided to purchase the unit and I'm happy that I did. The unit was delivered on time and within the selected time frame. The truck deliver service dropped off the unit at the entry to my garage which allowed me to finish the assembly (wheels and rubber feet) before moving it into its home in my garage. The next day, after I added the included oil (via the included funnel), added fresh gasoline, and attached the battery (already fully charged), the engine started after a few automatic retries that were initiated via one press of the push button start system which also set the auto-choke mechanism on the carb to allow for a cold start. Thereafter, once the engine was warm, it started right away. The unit is actually much quieter than expected based on older units I have used in the past. Although, the unit is on the heavy side, it is actually smaller than most units of this power rating. The outlets on the generator allow for it to be used for various configurations adding to its versatility. My next step is to add a transfer switch to my home and connect to the generator via an external power inlet box.

Convenience and Power in1

I recently upgraded to the WGEN9500dfc from my Champion Generator, and I'm so glad that i did. It came almost fully assembled out of the box. All I had to do was attach the wheels. It is very easy to maneuver. Remote electric start feature is a definite plus, as well as the dual fuel capability and the quick connects.

Solid workhorse, great Investment!

I bought this generator because it's a Westinghouse, it accepts dual fuel and it can power most of my all electric house through a panel interface kit. It's actually quieter than my, now retired, smaller generator and it stores in about the same amount of space too. Very please with it so far.

Good Generator

Only have a few hours runtime on the unit, but so far, it has performed as expected. It's rather heavy, so plan to have another person available to help you unload and unbox the unit. As to noise and vibration, the unit has exceeded my expectations. Noise is very tolerable when standing close, and I was very pleased with the lack of vibration while in operation.

Solid generator for home backup

Did a lot of research to find a replacement for my 20 year old generator. The Westinghouse 9500df is top of the line for a home backup and construction use. Trickle charger for the battery, gas regulator and line, wheels and transport handle, all included in the package.

So far, so good.

Very nice generator. Auto-start worked perfectly (remote start is a neat feature), great instructions for set-up. Tied in perfectly to our manual transfer switch, powered up appliances as advertised. Voltage measured a perfect 120V, 240v. It is very heavy yet is more mobile than a smaller Firman gen we have. Louder of course, but to be expected. Only concern so far is that the gas needle didn't budge off empty after adding roughly two gallons. Didn't want to pour in a full six gallons right up front as this is more for emergency purposes, don't want to fill to capacity until needed. Hopefully it will move freely and reflect correctly after we do fill it. Other than that, extremely happy with the purchase.

Super nice portable generator

Purchased this mainly with a desire to have electric start. The also supplies a remote Key Fob for start and stop operations. Sweet. I learned with electric / remote start, the choke / run are set automatically and have 3 attempts. Although mine start right off every time, gas or propane. Battery and oil for break-in are supplied. Also, the generator has a charging port and Westinghouse supplies the power plug too. And basic hand tools. Although no wrench 19mm(?) is supplied for the tightening or remove all for the LPG connection to the generator. Speaking of that, gas or propane dual fuel. Both work fantastic and switching between the two while running is flawless. As I said, it will start with gas or propane too. The propane connection is supplied. While running, the transition is quite flawless. Other features key to me carbon monoxide sensor and 40A / 50A plug ports. To maintain, all operations(oil, carb, manual pull starter, etc are easily accessible. Smart engineering. We connect ours directly to the Generlink interface for safer operation with power crews and less modifications to have an electrician do anything with the main AC panel. See photo. There are plenty of other generator photos but this is nice. Oh, there is an ST switch option to plug into the generator and into your house. When power loss is detected it will remote start the generator. However, with the GenerLink, that’s not possible. I have recommended this to my neighbors and friends.
