I bought this due to a power outage (we had an ice storm and power was out for two weeks!) and this generator is a BEAST! I purchased a 40 gallon propane tank and with that and a full tank of gas I was able to have heat, hot water and television the entire time the power was out.

I have been impressed with the build quality and ease of assembly. I love that it is dual fuel! I was surprised that the included 1 quart of engine oil was not enough to bring to a proper level, so I had to buy more. Other than that, I am very pleased with the purchase.

Arrived in showroom shape. Simple to attach wheels (axel, washer and slip-pin one per side) and front supports (2 bolts per side - package even include a wrench/spanner to tighten 10mm bolts). Came with the required oil and handy funnel - just needed to poor in the easily accessible oil port. Fill it up with gas (suggest you uses a fuel stabilizer). Turn the fuel cock on. Simply connect the battery with a simple wire connector. Turn the switch on. HERE IS THE COOL PART - push the Remote Start button on the handy fob and Eureka! You have portable power!!!! (There is a pull start, and a push button start on the generator if needed) This has plenty of power to run a whole house should the occasion arise. This is an insurance policy against major power outages or a zombie apocalypse!

I bought my generator because I live in Florida and this is the Hurricane season. a friend purchased this model and it helped him through the last power loss. I love the fact that I'm able too use either gas or propane. I had it wired into my panel box and it will give me power though-out my house. This model has all the bells and whistles.Westinghouse thought of everything

After having multiple storms cause major power outages in my area, making the purchase of this generator was a no brainer. Being able to operate off of two fuel types is a great relief due to the increases demand of gasoline during tragedies, I have my supply of propane to back me up.

I had to learn how to use this generator in preparation for a long absence by my husband, and I was very nervous about it. But it was surprisingly straightforward, and I had no trouble. The generator can handle all of our emergency power needs and then some. Very happy with this purchase.

The machine seems of good quality and fired right up after connecting to a 20lb propane tank. Not too noisy, decent fuel consumption, and serious power for the price. My only complaint is that this heavy unit comes with cheap wheels that would be better used on a rolling cooler. I did know this going in but it is my only critical thought on the product. Very satisfied otherwise!

I was in the market for a portable generator and Westinghouse Gen 9500 DF is the one I like the best. Most people who have this unit are happy just as I am when it was delivered and have it tested on Profane gas. Look handsome, easy to operate. I am now ready for power outages.

I have just received this generator and have only operated it for a 60 minute break-in. It fired up right out of the box, no hesitation at all using propane. First off I would like to point out the quality that is built into this machine. The electric start is a great feature, and also including this really cool long distance key-chain remote to start and stop it from over 100 yards away. No need to weather the storm to stop or start your generator. Another great feature is the dual-fuel ability. this allows you to switch between gas or propane without even turning off the generator. no more temporary blackouts while you change the type of fuel. Includes everything you will need to start it up, (Minus you fuel choice) including a wrench, spark-plug tool, funnel, pouch, propane hose and regulator assembly and even the 1-quart 1-ounce bottle of oil. When this item arrived and was opened every thing was in perfect condition. The packaging was superior in protecting the unit. Assembly was amazingly simple and well thought-out. One of the first indicators of this machines quality is when you first lift the transporting handle to move it. It is a beefy handle with foam wrapping for comfort. The very well designed balance of this generator makes it effortless to more about. My wife can move it with little effort. The tires are large and the lift handle is strong, hefty and secure. O yeah.... the units resting feet have suction cups built-in to prevent the generator from creeping around while running on a smooth surface. I can not wait to put the this machine to work.... To the Manufactures,Builders, Packers and Shippers....Well done....ô¿ô

It was recommended by the electrician who installed the transfer switch on my panel. My only issue was it would not start when it first arrived. The customer service guy told me that they recommend using the manual start the first time to “purge the system.” That seemed unlikely, but when I manually choked it, it did start. I think the issue was the push button start was not choking it automatically like it’s supposed to. I’ll see what happens next time I do a cold start.
